My family and I visited this location about a week ago, and I had been meaning to leave them an excellent review! First and foremost , I have been to several “ Yard House “ restaurants and none have left an amazing impression as the one in the American Dream Mall. The manager Romeo is doing an excellent job with his staff, as this location had charismatic and genuinely attentive servers, the cleanliness was superb, no sticky chairs , tables, nor grimey utensils, and the food was absolutely delicious!! At the time of our visit we had an excellent serve named Julie, who took our order , advised us in new attractions in the mall, and what night life was like during concerts. Julie while being a great conversationalist, also did not bombard us while we ate our meal, something rarely seen in servers nowadays lol . The ambience was not overwhelming, all the screens were working , there is a nice view for the ski slope, noise level is not horrendous, you can hold a conversation without yelling amongst one another, and you’re also not dining in darkness , worried about what the chefs may be trying to hide . Which brings me to the food… I had to know who the chef was because in last several years of going out , food had always just been a means to end, there’s no real expectation, especially a Yard House in the mall. However, Chris and his team are something to rave about!! Uhm, you know how many times one has had “boneless” wings ( chicken nuggets in sauce) and you know from the first bite, “ehh I’ll be sick from this later” COMPLETE OPPOSITE. No weird greasey taste, no abnormal texture to the chicken, the bread crumbs were not stale or reused , and the sauces were rich !! We also ordered the Shitake Garlic Noodles, again IMPRESSED!! Normal the mushrooms are overcooked and rubbery , however these were so delicious I couldn’t believe they were mushroom lol The noodles were great not overcooked and the sauce mixed so well that again I was thoroughly surprised at the care and quality of this meal. I have had this order at other locations and the noodles were bland , mushy, mushrooms gross, and the sauce so oily it separated all over the plate !! Not here !! I won’t hold you all hostage any longer with my review, ( Chicken Fotina Penne, BBQ Bacon Cheddar burger with Truffle fries yummm ! Get it don’t miss out !) but just so you don’t miss out on a great opportunity I’ll leave you with this….. I DESPISE LAVA CAKE…. Romeo, Julie, and Chris were kind enough to gift us a free desert, and I devouredddd it !! All of it was soft, not in gooey way, the ice cream too was excellent, no freezer burn, the fudge in the middle was awesome. Everything a lava cake should actually be instead of those stale and half cooked ones other restaurants serve. Great time, great staff,...
Read moreI can't say enough good things about the service we receive from the Yard House in American Dream. My family and I go often and let's just say we keep returning for a reason.
I want to thank the servers Sierrah, Elias, Julian, Chef, Management and a few others I unfortunately didn't get their names (my apologies) for going above and beyond to ensure that our dining experience was perfect everytime. They were very attentive and their genuine hospitality, professionalism, and impeccable service made all the difference. Each of them were absolute gems! They knew the menu, offered great recommendations, and cared about guest feedback. They go out of their way to accommodate our requests and make us feel like VIPs. We'll be back, thanks to them and the the amazing food!
The menu offers a delightful array of dishes, each expertly crafted with fresh, high-quality ingredients so I definitely need help with suggestions every visit.
The Lobster Garlic Noodles was a win! It was so delicious my entire family wanted to split my dish. This savory meal included maine lobster, shrimp, shiitake mushrooms, spinach, parmesan. Just in the description I am reliving the buttery taste.
I paired it with the Chicken Tortilla Soup and I swear they do not pay me to say this even though I should be for as much as me, my family, and friends go there but this soup is hands down the best soup I have ever had. This is a creamy white cheddar soup, roasted pasilla, tortilla strips, pico de gallo, avocado, cilantro. It is not spicy but has a little kick to it (not complaining just a heads up to anyone sensitive to a lil flavor). I am a huge soup foodie and they definitely exceeded my expectations. Applause to the Chef. Well done!
My 6 year old Autistic son is a huge picky eater and even he is a huge fan of the personal pizza pie which includes a side (he picks fries), beverage, and dessert. Sometimes he switches up and gets the Fried Chicken Tenders with fries. Both meals are delicious because of course I taste- test everything. Definitely a kid friendly menu selection.
I highly recommend the Yard House at American Dream in East Rutherford, NJ. After a long day of doing all the attractions in the mall with my little one this is our go-to place to sit down and decompress. The ambiance by the window overlooking the ski slope is perfect for a fun evening out especially around the holidays, giving me a classy cabin lodge vibe with great music.
Already planning my next family visit and hopefully a holiday work event there as well. Thank you for always giving us a added personal touch to our evening, we leave feeling thoroughly...
Read moreI recently visited Yard House with my family of eight, specifically choosing this restaurant because of its vegan options. Unfortunately, the service I received was not only incompetent but also potentially dangerous due to a severe lack of attention to dietary restrictions. Our server was a dark skinned girl with a straight haired wig, a septum or nose piercing and tattoos if that helps to avoid her, not sure if she’s new or just needs better training.
I ordered the vegan Gardein wings, and upon receiving my order, I noticed the sauce provided contained dairy. I requested a dairy-free sauce, yet when my food arrived, I took one bite only to realize I had been served real chicken instead of the vegan wings. As someone with a chicken allergy, this was not only careless but could have had serious health consequences. When I informed the server of the mistake, she finally brought the correct plant-based wings but—once again—brought back the same dairy-based sauce I had already specified I could not have.
By the time my corrected order arrived, my family had nearly finished their meals, and I had lost my appetite, forcing me to take my food to go. Throughout this ordeal, the server never once apologized and instead maintained a dismissive, snobby attitude, when in reality, I was the one who had every right to be frustrated.
Additionally, three of my family members requested hot water with lemon, and despite repeating the request multiple times, she brought cold water twice before finally getting it right on the third attempt. When I asked if anything could be done about the repeated mistakes, the server walked away with an attitude and sent over the manager.
To the manager’s credit, she was understanding and kind enough to remove the charge from my bill. However, there was still no real acknowledgment or action taken regarding the fact that I had already consumed chicken, despite my allergy and dietary restrictions. The manager expressed that she hoped this experience wouldn’t stop us from returning, but unfortunately, as visitors from out of town, we will not be returning—ever.
This experience was incredibly frustrating and disappointing. Food allergies and dietary restrictions are not a joke, and a restaurant should take them seriously to ensure the safety and satisfaction of its customers. The level of negligence and poor service I encountered at Yard House was unacceptable, and I would strongly caution others with dietary restrictions to be extremely careful when...
