Little Sheep Hot Pot & Bar — Restaurant in East Rutherford

About a week ago(sorry it took us so long marcus) we had the pleasure of dining hotpot for the first time after hearing a lot about it. from the start we were a little worried because we had very young kids teenagers, and adults who were freezing after a day of skiing and running around this huge mall, we saw little sheep was the highest rated restaurant in american dream. my group of 6, 1 kids and 1 toddler/baby were greeted right away by marcus who offered us a high chair and time to breathe while we found our seating arrangement. by the time he came back which was almost as soon as we all finished sitting, he brought both water for everyone but let us get our baby settled in. He asked us all about our day, why we were out, and seemed genuinely interested about us. marcus broke down the menu into very simple terms even our 4 year old understood, asked about any and all dietary restrictions(for our group we had none) and gave us some time to process everything. after what felt like just barely finishing reading the menu marcus came back and asked if there was any questions, concerns, or requests, we had two or three questions and he answered all of them quickly and simply. some of us put in drinks with him while he checked in and he told us us he’d be back in a minute to let us make some final choices. we opted to do 3 appetizers for the kids, 4 individual pots(all of which you can do different flavors!!!) and we trusted marcus to portion create an order for us. in the end our group felt happy with 3 proteins, 4 sets of noodles, a mushroom, and two veggies. marcus checked in us continually, making sure drinks were always topped off, asking us all if any of us needed anything, and best of all surprising us with free mochi at the end! from start to finish the experience felt warm and personable. i go out to eat frequently but marcus is a name i won’t forget...

Prepare your taste buds because you will not be disappointed!! The atmosphere puts you right at ease as soon as you walk through the doors and take a seat. The staff is very friendly, personable, and knowledgeable. I’ve been to numerous hot pot places before but I’ve never been to a Mongolian hot pot place. The main thing I have to say is OMG THE BROTH! If you’re having a bad day come here so that the broth can fix it! IT’S THAT GOOD! I had the mushroom broth and it was nothing short of divine. The cocktails are absolutely fantastic.They are a little strong so you’re definitely getting your money’s worth. On that note, I highly recommend The Kublai Khan. For proteins I had the chicken and the pork belly which were absolutely scrumptious and melted in my mouth. The scallion pancake was nice and crispy yet not oily at all. The best part was that they allowed us to take the remaining broth back home. It’s a great place to go on a date night/girls night/celebration. I can’t wait to return. It is slightly pricier than other local all you can eat hot pot places but, trust me, it’s worth every penny.

We’re still regulars at Little Sheep. It never ever disappoints and it’s always our first dinner option whenever we’re at American Dream.
