The Escape Game New Jersey at American Dream — Attraction in East Rutherford

Where do I begin? Well, hang tight, because here we go! This is absolutely THE BEST amazing escape room you’ll ever experience, hands down. The Escape Game is 10/10 for sure. Their customer service and kindness is superb. My experience started over the phone with Kailtyn who is awesome and beyond helpful! Her enthusiasm was perfect and set the tone for all the fun we were going to have. I decided to book our tickets over the phone because we weren’t sure which room we wanted to do and we were a party of 4 celebrating a birthday. This was also a complete surprise for the birthday girl, so she had no idea we were doing this. Kaitlyn completely took care of us. We talked about the two rooms we were looking at and overall decided Gold Rush would be the best one for us. I shared with her that this was for a birthday and that it was a surprise - she said we’ll do a little something special for you which was a great surprise for all of us! Booking our tickets over the phone was easy and painless. I am extremely thankful for my phone call with Kaitlyn, we wish we got to meet her! The day of our experience, we were paired up with Andrew our room guide. He was fun spirited and knew we would have a great time! The rooms are SO well crafted and thought out. We were blow away by it. We truly felt like we were outside in the forest. These rooms are like the equivalent of Disney. When we got to our last room, we were greeted with birthday streamers and a happy birthday sign! It was such a great surprise, we were not expecting that! And we completed our room with 2 minutes left!!! Completing your room is such a great feeling, it was a first for me! Once our experience was over, we were congratulated by Aurora who was SO happy for us AND brought over a goodie bag for the birthday girl! Again, another surprise we were not expecting at all! Just when we thought our experience couldn’t get any better, we were walked out to Anthony at the front desk! He was such a fun person, and has a great personality. It’s easy to spend your money with him ;) they were also very accommodating with the birthday girl’s gift. They checked for sizing and made sure what she was given worked for her. The employees are phenomenal, truly kind and caring. Customer service/satisfaction is their top priority! The place is so fun, it does not disappoint. I never write reviews this long, but they are absolutely deserving of it. Kuddos to the whole team, thank you so much...

We are a family of 5 with 3 kids under 10. We were looking forward to having a fun night out. When we got there they informed us that 3 other people will be joining us. The group was very nice but when you are trying to do an escape room with strangers and small kids its make for a weird dynamic. You want to be aggressive and solve the puzzles, be able to include everyone and their ideas, but you also need to give space to let others figure out the challenges, while not stepping on anyones toes and make sure that the other group doesn't get annoyed by your kids. In my opinion it ruins the experience. I felt like my kids wanted to get more involved and I had to hold them back so the other group could do their thing. Plus I felt like my kids were annoying and hovering over them. We went to bond and have fun and in the end they didn't get to enjoy the experience. The objective was my kids to lead the journey and in the end they were pushed to the side. For the price you pay, you should be able to do the escape room alone with your family or party and not have to pay an additional $150 to have a private experience. Especially when you have children. Kids need to run around & touch things. When you are stuck in a small room with strangers it makes it uncomfortable and doesn't give then the chance to fully immerse themselves. Although the puzzles were challenging and the experience would have been great if it was only us I would not be returning to this place. Its a shame we would have love to have tried other ones. My suggestion is, don't add yourself to a room that already has a partial booking.

When you go in, you’ll understand why they have 5 star average from thousands of people. Even before doing a game, you’re welcomed with such awesome customer service. Huge shout out to Dave, Cydney, and Anthony for being great front desk staff and Game Masters.

The games are the games, and the themes are always fun with this company, The Escape Game. We’ve done games in other states as well, and it’s all great. So the thing that I want to highlight in this location is truly the people who work here! Service can make or break an experience, and our’s was so spectacular that we roped ourselves in to do another game same day!

I do see others were given an “I escaped” sticker on their photos. I didn’t get to grab any… boo! I’ll inquire about it next time we go :) I can’t wait to visit this particular location again, and will be referring others here.

Tip for newcomers to this location, such as us: location in in Dream Mall, Park in lot A so it’s closest (it’s $5 to park all day). The place is next to Mr. Beast Burger on the third floor they have coat hooks and cubbies for you to place your things in your designated game room Healthcare workers with ID gets 15% off! You will be paired with other people in your game if others booked (there’s 6-8 people capacity I believe? you’ll have to check) You can make a room a private experience by paying for your slot PLUS the cost of the other slots you’re taking over to make it a private room (they’ll let you know the cost) their last game is at 11:30PM HAVE FUN AND BRING YOUR GAME MASTERS SOME...
