TLDR: This place is okay on the weekends but TERRIBLE on the weekdays. It has okay brunch (on weekends) and is conveniently located in the mall so you can shop around right after. But there are better food options in the mall.
I've gone to this diner about 3-4 times on the weekends, and each time I was satisfied with the food quality, prompt service, and decent lattes (probably would get a 3 star rating for weekend service). This last time I went on a Wednesday afternoon, because I had taken the day off and decided I wanted breakfast food and planned to shop with my wife and friend.
We got seated right away, there were only like 3-4 other tables occupied at the time. I asked for an oat milk latte, and was served something that looked like black coffee with messy foam on top. I told my waitress it looked like black coffee because that's what it was. She said something was wrong with the machine, even though my wife received a perfectly good iced latte, and she went to remake it. She brought me back another latte with messy looking foam, but this time it looked like it had more milk so I took a few sips in front of the waitress. It tasted incredibly sour. The waitress asked if I just wanted something else, so i asked for a regular whole milk iced latte since my wife's drink tasted fine. And on the 3rd try the waitress came back and gave me a decent drink. It didn't seem like it was a machine issue at all, it tasted more like she served me coffee with very expired oat milk.
Then the food came out. I ordered an avocado toast, my first time ordering it ever. It tasted like they threw untoasted multi grain bread on a plate, threw a ton of mashed avocado on top, a few cherry tomatoes, and topped it off with a fried egg, but they must've forgotten seasoning because it tasted so bland. My wife ordered Eggs Benedict, which is her favorite, and she barely finished it. It also wasn't good. We won't be...
Read moreAfter opening for more than a week, the anticipated arrival of this establishment located on the 3rd level Court A at the American Dream Mall in East Rutherford is over. Around the Clock offers an extensive menu and a family-friendly dining experience. My partner and I came as first-timers tonight for dinner. Upon entering, this two-story dining room is reminiscent of a European train station. Standing on the back wall, one can’t help but stare at the huge clock. A nice, lengthy modern bar opens to the length of the inside dining room, with two screens for sports viewing. Comfortable, colorful block-patterned banquettes seat 216 patrons inside, with outside concourse seating for 26 and 18 at the bar. Greeted by the host, she got us a table right away. The menu features breakfast all day, as well as an array of sandwiches, burgers, pastas, entrées, and over-the-top shakes. As an added attribute, hand-dipped and decorated-to-order, house-baked donuts are not to be missed. Patrons will choose their glazes, like sugar, maple, chocolate, and dulce de leche, and toppings, such as sprinkles, chocolate chips, coconut flakes, walnuts, and assorted candies. We decided on avocado toast with pickled onion, tomato, and eggs and chicken avocado club with fries. The food was very good, the portions were just right, and Robbie provided fast, friendly service. The price was comparable to the diner in the area. As with any new restaurant, this place was immaculately clean. This isn't open 24 hours a day, but it opens at 10 a.m. each day. We had a wonderful dining experience and made one of the owners, Peter, known, which we...
Read moreQuite honestly I was extremely disappointed in this restaurant. Our first clue should have been the couple next to us who left their food basically untouched. I went with a group of four. The service was very disappointing. It took about ten minutes for someone to come over to take our drink order. The soda was watery. At one point the server looked at our empty drinks and we had to ask him to refill them despite him clearly noticing they were empty. The food was very underseasoned and mediocre. It was also expensive for the quality served. I ordered a chipotle chicken panini. There was a droplet of sauce and the avocado was brown and rotten! The texture of the chicken was dry. The ketchup was the saving grace. I couldn’t bother to finish a few bites. My friend ordered sweet potato fries instead of regular fries. They upcharged him five dollars bringing his basket of chicken tenders and fries to almost twenty dollars! The chicken tenders were flat like hockey pucks and incredibly dry. The gravy on the fries looked canned and the cheese was barely melted on the disco fries. I would’ve been better off at the Wendy’s in the food court. All in all they did remove my meal from the check but the chicken tenders, a chicken sandwich and disco fries were $65 dollars! I couldn’t imagine what our check would have been if they hadn’t removed my meal! I also saw the table next to us order one of their $16 dollar milkshakes. You would’ve been better off with milk and some nesquick powder. Overall save your money and dine elsewhere. I had high hopes considering the owner trained under a food...
