LA Fitness — Attraction in Edison

I have been a member with LA fitness since 2018, that’s enough to prove my grounds. Sunday July 21st, 2024 I walk with my membership that has training sessions, allowed 2 guests and kidz club. Averaging total of $140 approximately. I was brining in a guest and was running 5 minutes behind my training session. I scanned my membership the front desk girl said I need to add him to the app. Without telling me where in the app do I have to go add the guest. I never have had to do this, I said to her he has give his id he should be in the system. She said no you have to add him I asked her how. No replies. Then my guest said you leave let me talk to her. I went to my training, she comes to me in middle of training and said she wanted me to come after I am done, I said okay. Then 2 minutes later two females approach me and said he got guest is stuck at front because you refused to check him in. I was like huh? I said I am in middle of my training i will be there. To which she replied I am canceling your membership and started twerking. I said I will be contacting corporate. By the way my trainer witnessed this whole scenario. After I finished my session I walked over to the front desk and told her I want her to twerk on camera for me so corporate can see. She started denying, I said please cancel my membership. I am not paying this place to have these type of employees coming around talking like that and disrespecting me. I paid enough money to not have me embarrassed by the teenagers that they have running the gym on Sundays. I will be contacting corporate and canceling my membership. I had a very frustrating experience at the LA Fitness in Edison. I was jump roping in the grass turf area because I have a knee issue, and landing on the turf is much easier on my knees compared to harder surfaces. While I was minding my own business and focused on my workout, a man – who didn’t even seem like an official LA Fitness instructor (he wasn’t wearing the uniform) – kept rushing back and forth between multiple people he appeared to be training.

It looked like he was handling clients from outside the gym, which seems like a gray area and probably against gym policy, but I’m not entirely sure. His unprofessional behavior caused him to get hit by my jump rope because he wasn’t paying attention to his surroundings. Instead of acknowledging his mistake, he rudely told me to move to the aerobics area on the concrete. This was completely uncalled for, especially since I was using the turf appropriately and specifically because of my knee condition.

If he had been a regular member focused on his own workout, this wouldn’t have happened. But this man was running around, seemingly managing too many clients at once, and acting carelessly. To make matters worse, he told me the turf was only for personal training, which felt absurd given how he was using the space.

I complained to the general manager, but while they said they would look into it, I doubt anything will actually be done. It’s disappointing to see the gym allow such behavior to go unchecked and treat...

I have a horrible experience with La fitness. When you signed up with their personal training and membership is fine, but when you tried to cancel it, they gave you a lot of trouble. I went to the local gym to cancel my person training and membership, however, someone from La fitness( not local gym) calling me and say that I did not cancel the service and ask for the credit card to keep charging me. So I went to the local gym, someone helped me to confirmed that everything has been canceled and nothing over due. But the people from La fitness still kept calling me again again and asked me to go to local office to cancel. I have been there couple times and local gym people told me they will leave notes in my account so La fitness would not call me again. But when someone from La fitness called me again, I asked them "can you see the notes in my account?" the person stated that I cannot see it. OGM, this is the dead end, no solutions. Unless you continue to pay money to them, they will be happy and will not bother you. Otherwise, you get so much harassment from them. I don't know what should I do now. Think about carefully before sign up with them. They are horrible and they don't communicate internally and horrible taking care...
