I was killing time waiting for someone at Firdale Village and was passingly intrigued by the Miniatures part of the name. When I walked in I was amazed by the large selection of supplies for anyone who's decorating or even building a dollhouse from scratch. There are dollhouses in many scales and they can be purchased completely built or in complete kit form. As a former builder of miniatures (oh my misspent youth!) I also appreciated the stock of wood in just about any style I'd want to build freeform buildings and of course, decorate them. (I'd never seen miniature stair pieces you didn't have to make yourself, outside of a magazine)
There also collectible dolls in various sizes. Cars. (I don't remember which maker, I had a fortune I spent on Corgi's back in the day) and probably other things I didn't get around to appreciating.
Oh and the service? Connie, the nice lady who's apparently the C in CJN was very helpful and kind to my neophyte self. I left knowing more than when I entered and the urge to come back when it's time to buy something spectactular for the current miniature builders in my family. I'll definitely be...
Read moreAn amazing place for all your doll house needs. That said, there are lots of things to be found for other model makers as well. There is a lot of cross over between doll houses and other types of model building. I have shopped here for some interior parts for my RC Scale model ships. Doll house flooring, miniature wall paper, lighting, wood, paint, and other details like a mini bowl of fruit for my RC ship interiors can be had here.
A while ago I built a book nook as another craft project, unfortunately I built it before I discovered this store. This store would have saved me days of building had I just come here for doors, windows, and a bay window they simply had in stock, but luckily I know about it now.
Great place with SO much stuff for building doll houses and doll house...

Many items in the store didn’t have a price and at one point I asked about the price on an item. It was somewhat similar to another that did have a price but it had a more intricate design and in better shape. When I asked the owner for the price she very rudely responded (without even looking up), “well if it’s similar that it’s probably the same price don’t you think”. She didn’t even look at the two items I was holding.
The shop itself is incredible. Some things overpriced, but overall a good shop as long as you don’t interact with the owner. The other people working in the shop...
