Poor service, zero communication, loud dining room, and average food.
When you enter the small restaurant, you wait in a line down a hallway with no communication as to how long waiting will take, no names taken down, and no seating for handicap.
My family and I are seated, immediately given waters and menus. Pleasantly surprised that the wait didn't take more than 30 mins, we order our food with recommendations from our server. We order the Lucky 7+2, Spicy Italian Sausage Omelet with Biscuit and Gravy, and Squirt Waffle with Strawberries and Cream and Orange Juice at 10:57
Our server brings out the juice and doesn't come back to check in/communicate with us for 33 minutes. During our waiting, we consistently watched this server replenish coffee, check ins with their other tables. At 11:30, I flag them down and ask about our food, which they check on. We are given the response "it's on the grill," and they walk away.
We receive our food at 11:43, 45 minutes after ordering. An inappropriate amount of time for a simple order to take. The restaurant seemed to have plenty of service staff, why does it seem they are not properly giving the kitchen staff resources for timely ticket completion?
The food was made well, however, lacking flavor and spices. It was difficult to enjoy the food, as after waiting we were shaky, and ate the food quickly. The server didn't seem inclined to stick around until it was time to pay our bill, which they were immediately able to greet us at the pay counter.
Overall experience was a major letdown, will not be recommending to others, and don't ever...
Read moreI enjoyed the food but I didn't much appreciate the service. I was provided an unwashed cup of water with a lipstick mark on the edge of it. When I asked for tea, all I received was a tea bag and a jug of hot water but no mug to pour it into, nor were there any handles on the jug or a spout. How was I supposed to pick it up if it's piping hot without handles? The server wound up pouring hot water into my mug later with her own kettle and didn't seem to register the problem, yet offered me that solution.
Food was just fine. The syrup seemed to be corn syrup or some cheap maple syrup. I wasn't impressed by it but it was good enough. Pancakes weren't anything special. Eggs were cooked just fine. I'd eat it again but I don't think I'll be returning. Unwashed cups are a safety hazard.
I can forgive the dust on the ceiling pendants and the slightly uncomfortable layout of the tables, but the service is driving me away. I'd rate this maybe 2.5 stars. I understand this is a spot where the retired population of Edmonds gathers for affordable breakfast and lunch, and I wouldn't want my review to remove that for them, however, cleanliness is important. Just make a couple simple safety changes and replace the handleless jug with a real tea pot. If tea is on the menu, accommodate it...
Read moreMy son and I came in for breakfast. Even though there was plenty of available seating and tables, we still waited about 20 minutes to sit down because the hostess who was supposed to sit us down was attending to the line of paying customers with priority over us, and it didn’t matter that we were there first. She made sure that every person who was paying were attended to first. No one else in the team was bothering to pay any attention to the line of people waiting to sit down.
Service was absolutely terrible. It took another 20 minutes for our server to take our order, and after 40 minutes waiting, we never got our food. We also noticed that some customers who sat after us were already getting their food. My son and I walked out and went to the nearby Denny’s. Without our food. I realize that it can get really busy sometimes. We just need some kind of acknowledgement or explanation that I’ve had to wait a long time to get seated, take our order, and get our food. A long wait in each part of this nightmare dining process. To make matters worse, customers who sat much later after us were already getting their orders.
I'll probably never go back to this Pancake...
