Eaker's Family Barbershop — Attraction in Edwardsville

I would recommend Eaker's to anyone who wants a quality haircut at a fair price. Eaker's is an excellent cash only (maybe take checks, I've never tried though) barber shop in downtown Edwardsville. Men's haircuts run $17. Carrie and her new associate barber who's name escapes me are both incredibly friendly and talented barbers. Show them a picture of a haircut you want, or give a vague description, either way, you'll be satisfied. Neck lines are done with an old school straight razor, followed up by a hot towel, which feels awesome. They can chat about anything, but are also adept at picking up on someone who doesn't feel like talking. Sometimes some friendly dogs are present, who just add to the experience.

The only knocks are the sometimes lengthy wait times, and the cash only nature...

I went to this barbershop for the first time, and my experience was absolutely fantastic. The barbers there were very friendly and made great conversations. They did a great job with my hair, and I will definitely be going back for future haircuts. The only complaint I have is that they only accept cash or checks. I try not to carry cash with me at all for convenience and security. However, this problem can easily be fixed with the investment of a Square Reader or any other credit card reader. Come for the haircuts, stay for the conversation and excellent service. Eaker's is a 3rd generation family-owned and -run barbershop that pays homage to the past with straight razor and warm towel service without getting caught up in the past by also welcoming girls and ladies. Stop by for a cut, chat, put a 45 on, and forget what year it is. Top-notch service every time!
