I stayed here the night before my wedding, got ready here the morning of my wedding, and my partner and I slept here the night of our wedding. The room we had was so beautiful and functional; I've shared a few photos. The check-in process is pretty easy as you just have a code to get into the building and your room. The hotel itself functions more like a hostile or airbnb in that there is no front desk or staff present in the facility when you arrive. Additionally, there are water and snacks provided in a cart in the hallway throughout the day. I believe there is a way to contact a live person if you are in need of additional toiletries, snacks, etc. I did not have my wedding at the Ink House next door which is owned by the same people, but they were still able to accommodate us; not sure if in the future this hotel will be dedicated only to Ink House brides. The room I stayed in had ample space, beautiful decor, a large bed, bathroom, hooks for your gown, a couch and table area, and a full "getting ready" bar with backlit mirrors and everything. Me and my 6 bridal buddies, my mom, 2 photographers, and hair and makeup were able to fit in this space (a smidge crowded with everyone but totally functional). The other great part of this hotel is location. We walked to Birdie Cafe to pick up a catered lunch and I walked down the street to the Edwardsville Farmer's Market for a coffee while everyone was getting ready. You can walk to lots of food and drink places. I highly recommend this place (and especially this room as each room looks different)...
Read moreI should start by saying that this hotel is very well-decorated and classy. It is also in a great location - within walking distance to several restaurants. The parking is great if you can get one of the few spots outside the front door. If not, you'll be parking in a public lot down the street.||||I rated the service low because there is no service. They claim the "contactless" nature of the place is a benefit. We think it's just an excuse to not pay someone to work there. They give a phone number to call about issues, but an on-site person would have been nice - even if we didn't have issues. (We actually did have an issue, though - the coffee maker in the hallway did not work.) ||||If this were a resort with a lot of amenities, I could understand the price, but this hotel has nothing that warrants such a high nightly rate. Please also note that the weekend rates are substantially higher than the "starting at" rates (which are for weekdays).||||The cancellation policy is probably the worst feature of this hotel, though. Most hotels will allow cancellation up to 24 hours before the stay. I get that this is a boutique hotel and much less likely to book rooms on short notice, but a deadline of 24 hours AFTER BOOKING is ridiculously short. More reasonable would be two weeks or even a month before the stay. Don't book this hotel unless you are VERY sure you plan to stay there. ||||So, in summary, this hotel may be worth a stay if you understand what you are getting yourself in for. Even then, I'd think twice...
Read moreThis place may be great for wedding parties, but it's not great for anyone else. The doors are incredibly loud every time they close and I heard them close a lot! The men next door to me were back and forth to their rooms meanwhile talking loudly and slamming doors. Since there is no one here from the hotel and very few rooms people seem to think they can be loud and disrespectful to those around them. Quiet hours are 11pm which seems late in my opinion. I've brought my sound machine and ear plugs and can still hear the slamming doors and dropping bottles or whatever it was. There are no carpets, which is cleaner, but also louder.
The room was clean and decorated nicely, but this is not a place to sleep which is why I came in...
