NORTH MAIN DINER — Restaurant in Edwardsville

I ordered a meat skillet and my sister ordered chicken & waffles. When my sister cut her chicken strip all the crust fell off. She ate a small piece of the waffle and did not like it, she told the server she didn’t like it and can she take it back. The server apologized but she was still charged for the meal. She asked why she was being charged full price since she didn’t eat it nor like what she had. The owner came to the front explaining how she never had a complaint before. She ended up discounting her bill. Wow! Mean while my meat skillet consisted of bacon,hashbrowns,sausage, ham, cheese & egg. It was dry and I did not like my food either,I ordered a side of gravy which I was charged 2.99 for was really thick thinking it would make it better. I paid for my food but I wouldn’t recommend or return...

3/4/25 update: Sadly with the heavily increase of price we won't return. It was also quite a shock when we were flipping through the menu and noticed the increase on our own with no mention of the hefty increase via signage or online. Example of the price increase is the Hercules special used to be 11.99, it's now 17.99, a single piece of french toast is 9 dollars and a side of hash browns is 7! Most of the items on the menu have about the same percentage of increase. The food is good but nothing spectacular to qualify for that high of an increase.

My husband and I have been on the hunt for a new breakfast place and have found it! The food was great and the service was just as good! We already planned out that we'll be having breakfast here every weekend...

Such a comfy diner. Fiance and I were greeted as soon as we walked in. Waitress was so nice and accommodating. We had a full breakfast: Pancakes, eggs, hashbrowns, sausage patties, bacon, steak, biscuits & gravy, and coffee. The flavor of the food was fine. Pancakes were fluffy and smelled so delicious, eggs were cooked perfect, hashbrowns crispy and soft at the same time, sausage patties were not our favorite due to the texture, bacon = amazing, the steak was not seared at all (just had a grey color all over) but was cooked how he asked for it, biscuits and gravy sort of tasted like flour & the dough stuck to my fork. We will definitely return here again, just have to order differently. Our bill was 60 for 2 people...
