If I could have given this establishment lower than a one star, I would. My family lost everything in a house fire, and I had to replace everything in our home. Now shopping for all new home furniture may sound nice; however, it was challenging having to do everything of this sort alone with two young children since my husband had just left on deployment. After visiting many furniture stores along with having a horrible experience at Conn’s, I decided to go with American Furniture Outlet. Thinking it would be best to support our local small business owners. Being ripped off wasn’t something I had in mind. Upon walking into the store, we were greeted by a lady, and I explained what I was looking for and also asked about their policy regarding holding merchandise. My home was in the middle of the rebuild, and the promise date was pushed back countless times. I wanted to be sure my order wouldn’t be returned to stock after a certain period. She then directed me to Greg Daw, the owner. At first, this man made me feel as if I were just a young mother who wasn’t serious about purchasing anything. I could tell this by the body language along with the facial expressions I was given. It wasn’t until he heard me on the phone with my bank raising my debit card limit when I was treated like an actual customer. Yes, at this point, I should have walked away and continued my search, but I was so stressed and wanted it done. The entire order was about 6k for two complete bedroom sets, including the mattress. It wasn’t until I purchased my dining table from a different location when I learned that Mr. Daw had sold me items I did not need. My bed was supposed to be a platform bed with no need for box springs since the bed came itself came with the necessary foundation. He insisted that I needed what’s called boogie boards to make the bed last longer (which don’t even match nor look new). I was charged for another box spring for the queen I purchased that also didn’t require one. The set its self was way overpriced, and I had found the same thing at a lower price. I asked for a price match since that is what they state on their website “price match guarantee, “ but because I had ordered everything more than 30 days ago, they wouldn’t price match. Mind you; nothing had been delivered yet. I asked Mr Daw, to refund me for the box spring I didn’t need along with those silly boogie boards however he refused. I asked if he could lower his delivery charge of $200 since everywhere else charged no more than $60, and depending on the ticket amount it was free. He refused and stated, “their service wasn’t like any other in town.” I had better customer service from Furniture City not only with their delivery crew but the employees in general. So in summation, if you would like to be sold overpriced items, items you don’t need and charged a ridiculous delivery charge on top of your order, this is the place to go. My friend told me he had a great experience with Mr. Daw. A few months later, I’m now stateside and had picked the Queen bedset in the photos. I gave him a call to see if it was available and he didn’t have it in his warehouse but they had it instock out in Cali. He was honest with the timeframe of delivery which was like 2-4 weeks I believe. He even followed up with me on the date of arrival. I paid for delivery and assembly and bless their hearts because there were tons of steps they had to climb with this set lol. You do pay extra but it was worth it for me. So needing furniture for our new home and after shopping around, we asked if American provided in-home decorating assistance. Greg drove to Las Cruces that day! He listened to our needs, took photos, and scheduled an in-warehouse appointment. Greg and Susan Daw had 4 possible arrangements ready; we LOVED one. Sofa, love seat, and 4 chairs were delivered, existing furniture moved into den, new living room furniture was set up and arranged; Susan even moved photos and pictures to better positions.
