I recently stayed at the fantastic Hotel Indigo in Downtown El Paso and had an amazing experience. If you're looking for a place that puts you right in the heart of the action, this hotel is perfect. It is conveniently located within walking distance of many downtown restaurants and nightlife spots, making it ideal for foodies and night owls alike.
Location The hotel's location is unbeatable. It's close to the border, providing a unique cultural experience, and only minutes away from the University of Texas at El Paso. For sports enthusiasts, the minor league ballpark is also within walking distance. This makes it easy to catch a game and enjoy the vibrant atmosphere of downtown El Paso.
Amenities One of the highlights of this hotel is the beautiful outdoor pool on the roof. The view from up there is stunning, especially at sunset. It's a great spot to relax and unwind after a day of exploring the city. The pool area is well-maintained, and there's plenty of seating for guests to enjoy.
Staff The staff at the hotel were incredibly friendly and accommodating. From check-in to check-out, they made sure that all my needs were met and went out of their way to provide excellent service. Their hospitality added a personal touch to my stay, making it even more enjoyable.
Noise Level One thing to note is that the nightlife can be heard from the lower floors until about 11 pm. However, it wasn't loud enough to be disturbing and added to the lively downtown atmosphere. If you're a light sleeper, you might want to request a room on a higher floor.
Proximity to Attractions Being so close to the University of Texas at El Paso was a huge plus for me. It took only a few minutes to get there, making the hotel an excellent choice for visiting parents, prospective students, or anyone attending university events.
Overall This downtown El Paso hotel offers a blend of convenience, comfort, and charm. Whether you're in town for business, visiting the university, or just exploring the local culture, this hotel provides a great home base. With its friendly staff, prime location, and excellent amenities, I highly recommend it for your next...
Read moreFrom the moment we arrived until we departed we were treated like celebrity guests. Never have I seen such attention and care given to guests before, and we’ve stayed in all kinds of places. The entrance is a little unusual, being in the parking garage. We were swiftly greeted by an enthusiastic valet. He helped us get what we needed from a stuffed car and escorted us to the entrance. From there we were brought to the fifth floor to check in. All assurances were made for a comfortable stay. Our baggage was in our room before we got there. And what a room! A floor to ceiling spectacular view of El Paso and to my husband and son’s delight, the train yard! I noticed during our stay every room is a little different. Bathroom is big. Beds were extremely comfortable. Loved the chair by the window. I honestly didn’t want to leave the room for dinner but we did. Restaurants within walking distance from the hotel. We enjoyed evening drinks in the bar. The only small problem was we needed an additional towel and washcloth for our room. I called the desk and they said it would be up right away. We waited a long while, then decided to just go to the bar to get drinks. When we left the bar, we stopped at the desk to see if it ever arrived or if they could just hand us one. We got an apology as apparently it went to the wrong room. We were fine, these things happen. But then we were comped two vouchers for breakfast. That blew us away! The next morning we checked out the little restaurant on their bottom floor. It is pleasant with some interesting selections but has one major flaw. The menu’s font size is very small, and in a fancy script that is hard to read. We could barely make out a few items and gave up reading the rest. Service was good if a bit slow. Checkout was easy, just handing the keys to the valet. We’d strongly encourage you to stay here on your next trip to El Paso. You will always...
Read moreWhile I love the Hotel Indego experience, there are some issues that should be addressed. We stayed one week earlier and while the staff and room were great, we were never able to get more than tepid water in the shower. We were leaving early in the morning so did not ask for maintenance but mentioned at the desk when we checked out. As she never mentioned that this is a common problem, we decided that we would stay on our return trip.
On our return trip we first checked the shower to make sure it was warm water. It was not so I went down to the desk to address. William was wonderful and suggested that we turn on the sink as well as the shower to see if we could get hot water. After about 5 minutes of letting both run, we were able to get hot water. What a waste of water! I do want to commend William on great customer service. He assisted finding an item that we had left of an earlier visit and was efficient checking us in and dealing with me as a not so happy customer when we did not have hot water.
While I understand short staff for holidays and emergency situations, having the fire alarm go off at 12:30 was difficult and unavoidable. The inability to get the elevators working after the alarm was unacceptable regardless of holiday or staffing. I had been diagnosed with Pneumonia a few days before so dealing with the stairs down was a bummer, there is no way I could have handled 11 flights back up. When the alarm was done, we waited in the lobby for over an hour for the elevators to be re-set. When we asked, we were told they were looking for someone to reset them. We were finally offered the use of the staff elevator to the 5th floor and walked up to 11. When we went to check out in the morning the elevators were still not running, We had to carry our belonging from 11 to 5 where we had to ask permission to get a ride down to 1. The ride from 5 to 1 was not offered,...
