Showed up with a large party with a reservation to listen to live music. Initially sat in the backroom and were attended to by Chris who has tremendous customer service skills that are second to none. I recommend you ask for him by name to ensure a good experience. After being moved to the section with the musical act I noticed the waiter, (Uriel) tending to our new area tossed a chair at a table near by and made a sideways expression to let everyone know he was upset about being sat with more tables or possibly people of his disliking. He then proceeded to ignore our table for the better part of 10-15 minutes. In that time Chris came and checked on us twice but expressed he could not serve in our area. A few minutes later Uriel approached our table and blasted us with, “are you going to want something or no”, to which I replied no and proceeded to leave with my family. On our way out I let the manager (Piri) know that we were very upset with the service and disrespect, as my family was very excited to listen to the musical act. He did express he would remedy the situation with the waiter Uriel and invited us to eat for free; but, I had to decline because I would like to make it very clear to animals like this waiter that they have no business in the service industry and should be kept in a freezer away from any paying customer for the rest...
Read moreWe went on Monday and I was impressed with the new restaurant. The inside was very nice and I liked that they have a patio. Once you are seated they bring you a tiny basket of tostadas, which were warm, along with a small cup of salsa, refried beans, and an overly heated, crispy flour tortilla. I know here in El Paso we are used to big servings, but I'll warn you, this restaurant is the opposite. The salsa in the beginning is small, the basket of tostadas, also small, the salsa, and guacamole they bring for the tacos are small. I got the carne de res tacos, which were good, and small. The frijoles charros are also is a tiny bowl. I think that's the only thing I was not impressed by, the frijoles charros. They are overpriced as a side and the recipe is not like mine or what you find in other restaurants. The spoons are also tiny for the frijoles! I loved my classic frozen margaritas! They were nice and strong! We also got the elotes as an appetizer, they were delicious. And last but not least, Ramses, our waiter was excellent! He provided great service, he was shy at first, but I told him to relax, which he later did. I will go back next time and try out the chicken and potatoes or perhaps...
Read moreMy dad and I went yesterday, even though it was a busy Sunday we were sat pretty quickly. The music was very loud so it was a bit disruptive for our conversation.
The food is not bad! My dad ordered a Jamaicalicious and said it was very yummy and refreshing, I couldn't say the same about the horchata which tasted like a cheap powder drink. I ordered the Pollo al Chipotle and was very savory and juicy, veggies might've needed to cook more since they were still a bit hard; My dad ordered the Tilapia Rellena de Camarones and the fish had a lot of parts straight up raw and inedible, so be careful if you order this dish in particular. (Sorry this is the only picture I took of our food)
Luckily, our waitress Arely was very nice and provided excellent service all around and switched his plate for a cooked one. Who I think is also the general manager visited our table and due to the inconvenience gave us a slice of pastel de tres leches on the house, which was delicious.
What saved our visit was how attentive the staff was and how quick they were able to provide a solutions for the little problems encountered. I do see myself...
