Apart from the Outlet Shoppes this is by far my favorite shopping center in El Paso.
Making it an open outlet mall was a good idea, since the architecture of the shopping center is fantastic, especially down in the Promenade area. Going to The Fountains will really make you want to pull out your phone or camera to take some pictures as you walk along. It's been a while since its opening and luckily the shopping center is still relatively nice and tidy. Every now and then they host events on the small stage they've got on the Promenade area, such as concerts and outdoor movies, which is always great.
The only real downside to this outdoor feature is that since it's outdoors, capricious weather will really take a toll on your visit unless you're planning on staying in one shop or restaurant during your visit. If you want to make the most out of the setting, you'll have to make sure to check the weather is good. But then again, this is an issue with all outdoor shopping centers/malls, and it's out of people's control.
The shops are all very nice and most have a great selection of items and/or good deals. The majority of the stores are catered towards accessories and clothing, though there's still a sizable selection of stores that cater to other needs, such as Best Buy, Barnes & Noble, GameStop, Jared, etc.
However, there is not that many shops at this moment, though there's certainly a lot more than when they first opened. Thankfully though Cielo Vista Mall is right next to The Fountains, so if you've got some "unfinished business", there is an easily available second option.
I really do recommend this place. It's fun to explore it, it's got nice stores and restaurants and there's still more room for more shops which hopefully will be filled next year. So yeah, if you plan to go around shopping at El Paso, definetly remember to come to...
Read moreI witness the security for the fountains of farah be very, very unpleasant to a poor homeless woman at Raising Cane's chicken . She apparently was apologizing for paying with change to the cashier which had no problem taking the change for payment. The homeless woman pulled out her panhandling sign to explain why she was paying with pure change when the security guards walked in and happened to see her standing in front of the register showing a panhandling sign at the cashier and assumed she was begging for free food.. The security guard kicked her out of the restaurant without knowing what she was doing. He told her"" you can't come in her begging for food!!! Nobody feels sorry for you !!! Here I just bought this water bottle take it and God bless you NOW LEAVE!!!!!"""" The poor woman left her money on the counter without receiving her food which she paid for in full. Matter of fact she over paid. The cashier was trying to stop the very unprofessional security guard but with no success. Raising Cane's is a great place to dine, I was SO HAPPY TO SEE HOW THE CASHIER STOOD UP FOR THE HOMELESS LADY!!!!. TURNS OUT THE HOMELESS LADY WAS TRYING TO BUY THE FOOD FOR HER HOMELESS SON WHO WAS WAITING OUTSIDE UNDERNEATH A TREE. THATS THE MOST SAD SITUATION IVE EVER SEEN..The fountains of farah outta be ASHAMED of their security...
Read moreA couple of days ago when I went to the Best Buy store I couldn't remember the full name of Fountains at Farah and just used the name Farah. One thing I can say is how i was very impressed with all these stores in one place. When the original place of the Factory of Farah was torn down I had no idea what they had in mind with the property, until I came across the information of what they were going to do and turn it into what it is today. It has some of the good stores and restaurants that I had no idea until I went there for the first time a few years ago. Even though I haven't been there for a while it still has alot of cars going in and out of that place. The only thing that bothers me is when you go in there on foot, is the driver's of all these vehicles going in and out with no concern for people walking going in and out and run you over if they could. Seriously they need to have some type of Security officer's watching over some of these drivers and give them a warning or suffer the consequences of law...
