We brought a Rolex timepiece here in early 2018 that was experiencing a mechanical issue. We requested that the Rolex be sent to one of the Rolex Servicing Centers (RSC) by Deutsch & Deutsch staff. They informed us that D&D had a qualified Rolex technician who could do the required repair in shop and that we would save time and money by doing so rather than sending it to an RSC.

When the Rolex was ready for pickup, we immediately noticed a deficiency. The clasp was not properly lubricated and would not close. The salesman went to the back and seemingly solved the issue. The salesman then set the time on the Rolex by adjusting the hands in a counterclockwise direction. He was asked to stop, but continued. A day later we noticed a water stain on the inside portion of the dial crystal. The timepiece had not been exposed to moisture at anytime since the pickup. Lastly, the D&D Rolex technician failed to apply locktight to one of the bracelet rods, causing the timepiece to fall from the wearer's wrist onto concrete surface, which caused additional damage.

The incompetence of the D&D repair technician cost us a lot of time, money, and frustration. The D&D service cost was roughly $800.00. This is unacceptable! Rolex has been made aware of the issue. Personally we feel that D&D should lose their authorization to sell and service Rolex Timepieces.

In all fairness we did not give D&D the opportunity to correct this issue because we did not feel that they were capable of providing a viable solution.

We would reccomend only sending your Rolex to an RSC. We know better now, after spending nearly $1,200.00 to correct everything.

The staff at D&D despite their shortcomings, were in fact very nice.

I cant remember reviewing a place in recent memory - since most places are right around a 3.5 star experience. Why bother right?

I feel compelled to leave a review today because the service at Deutsch & Deutsch was so dang good. I can confidently say this as I have interacted with 10 sales people from 7 different watch/jewelry boutiques - and the quality of service at D&D is THE best. Better than in any other place I've been... If google would let me put six stars down I would.

I came in to the D&D at Fountains of Farah to try on some watches. Veronica was EXTREMELY patient with me. She helped me try out 4 watches and several pens. At the end of our visit, I was able to buy a dream watch (bucket list) and a very nice pen. Veronica, THANK YOU!

While I was trying out watches and pens, the other sales associates assisted my in-laws with some earrings, and my wife with sunglasses (she couldn't decide which pair to get!) The service was so good that even after getting back to Austin, my wife had made her sunglass choice too late, I still decided to buy both pairs of sunglasses from D&D and have them shipped to Austin.

Yes I know I paid a premium for the FedEx shipping, but when people treat me with respect, they deserve my business. If D&D sells it, I will be buying it from them despite shipping. Like I said, respect means everything to me.
