I just went back to Los Colegas on the gateway after sometime and I was very disappointed and dissatisfied. First of all, I paid $30 for two anemic looking take out dishes, which are ridiculously overpriced for the size of portions served. A very small portion indeed. One was "aguachiles" and the other was "filete a la veracruzana." THIRTY BUCKS!! To top it off, we used to buy the fish filet very often in the past and it always included rice and mashed potatoes. We really enjoyed the mashed potatoes along with the fish and the rice. Now, the plate DOES NOT EVEN INCLUDE MASHED POTATOES! They gave me some lame excuse that it was because it was a "filete Veracruzano" and it had the sauce. This has nothing to do with it. Mashed potatoes go well with any type of seafood sauce. And for the very high price they are charging, I truly believe they should fill that one empty space in the to go plate with something! Also, the customer service leaves very much to be desired of a place charging these kinds of prices for food that is substandard in portion size, eye appeal and quality. The personal look unhappy, and have bad and unfriendly attitudes. They are grouchy and unfriendly. When I called to complain about these issues, I was met with rudeness, despotism and lame excuses. I am most certain that my customer satisfaction was in no way at the top of their priorities list today. I would most definitely think twice about spending my hard earned cash at this place in the future. I am certain that these days, there are plenty of place who would do a much better job. Read moreThis evening, I ordered two shrimp cocktails without onions, but when I got home, I discovered they had onions. I called the restaurant, and they asked me to return. When I arrived, I spoke with the manager, who took the cocktails back to the kitchen and came back insisting that their kitchen did not include any onions. They claimed the diced cucumbers might have been mistaken for onions. I then showed her the onion I found in my cocktail while she was trying to deny it. Eventually, she agreed to remake the order. After returning home with our second order, they also had onions. I almost feel as though they just returned to me the same ones I took back. Read moreWe were a party of 19 and made reservations a day ahead of our event. The restaurant was not even half filled when we sat at our designated table(s). A young man was assigned to take care of our party ... along with having to wait on other patrons there. Needless to say, it was terrible service. Some drink orders were served, and others weren't. While some of us were still waiting for our drinks, 45' after arrival, our waiter was attending other patrons that had arrived 30' after we sat down. It wasn't till after we complained to the "manager" that she came out to assist. The excuse given to us for being short-handed was that the waitress assigned to wait on us did not show up to work!
