My husband was trying to help me out by getting me a gift card to have my hair done at Ulta, and it's only turned into a disaster, me crying, and being so angry. I went in for high lights and told the girl I didn't want to be a brassy blonde, even did the whole "show your hair dresser a photo thing" even showing her pictures of where my precious hair dresser in another town 8.5 hours away was able to do it. I got the whole "yeah, yeah, yeah, I can do it" response. After sitting, trying to get through my appointment, that started at 10 a.m. I couldn't do it any more, as I have rods in my back, I didn't leave till 2:45 pm. I just wanted a trim and my high lights and now while going on vacation I have to get my hair fixed when I should be spending time with my son. My Husband, bless his heart, went back and got the money for my salon visit back on a gift card and had to buy shampoos and conditioners to try and bandaid what was done. Oh, and when I say I wanted a trim, my hair when I walked in was past my bra strap and now it's the shortest it's been in a very long time. The Salon Manager told my Husband if I came back the next day they would fix my hair, my Husband said "if I know my Wife, which I do, she won't be back to your salon ever again". You can't fix almost 3 inches getting cut off! Looks like the next 3.5 years my Husband is stationed in El Paso is going to be a long one. Oh, and by the way if you post comments here, they go and look at your profile and see if you post anything different on your Facebook page about your Salon service, the one who did my hair was talking about her reviews and how she...
Read moreI went to the Salon to get my hair done. I have thick hair so I know my appointments take a lot of time. I wanted to go lighter. Got there at 12:00 on time. Didn't sit in the chair until 12:13. Then, after the girl parts my hair in like 4 or 5 sections she leaves me there for 30 minutes. Nobody checked on me. She comes back and then finally starts my hair. She starts putting in foils. Took her from 12:45 to 2:30 to finish. I have a lot of hair but at this point I'm worried about how the bleach is affecting different parts of my hair. Then, she says about 30 minutes and then we'll rinse out. That's normal. So I wait... 30 minutes.. 35... 45... An hour and 15 minutes later she comes over and asks if I ready to rinse out. Nobody checked on me during this time btw. I didn't even know who was actually doing my hair until this point because she didn't introduce herself or ask for my name. But anyways, we rinse. Then we move onto the haircut. In the beginning I told her I wanted the least amount off we could get. She turns to me and goes '3 inches'.... Yeah, no. That's not happening. She keeps pushing it. At this point I'm pissed because she just left bleach on my hair for 1h 15min and comes back at me with 3 inches. Oh, and I'd been lighting my hair for over 2 years now. And it doesn't even look lighter. Maybe toned more. But that's it. So I told her an inch. I will admit, my hair felt better. But it doesn't looks anything like the photo I showed her. And it's the next day and it feels absolutely tough and gross. My advice would be to ask for someone who actually knows what...
Read moreMy review is based on the salon aspect of the store. I normally don't write reviews, but i feel as though I have to relay this information. The customer service was exceptional, aside from the fact that I was constantly sitting and waiting numerous times as the stylist assisted other employees and tended to multiple clients at the same time. Secondly I asked a while back if anyone performed the "Deva Cut" (which requires a special licensing/certification) and I was told my stylist did. Amidst our conversation during my haircut she told me she WAS NOT "100% certified and that she had just taken a class." You're either certified or your not certified... It was too late to turn back at that point. I asked her to make sure my hair does not fall in my face and that it is long enough to put up in a bun. Neither needs were met, they told me I could come back within 10 days free of charge to get anything fixed that I didn't like, unfortunately there is no hair to be fixed because it is extremely short, and in my opinion, the composition of the cut feels abnormal.. for any hair type or face. alas, hair grows back... I'm not saying to rid this place as it is your average corporate chain, but please please, I advise you to do your own research and be that annoying customer that asks for credentials. As for the Ulta staff, I would also advise you to not promote that you provide "Deva Cuts" as a service when none of the staff is accredited...
