I visited the Elizabeth, NJ location today on October 8, 2024 and spent over $270.00 on merchandise which is less than I normally spend when I visit Forman Mills. The cashier Zashelyn was very nice, professional and courteous. She offered me the rewards program to get 10% off of today's purchase, but as I explained to Zashelyn that whenever I would text the word JOIN to 50886, it never goes through so that I can join to become a rewards number. I asked her if she was able to manually enter my information into the system to sign me up so that I could join the rewards, or if she could override it to provide me with the 10% discount, in which she said that she specifically could not, but she did call over manager Shelly to assist, in which Shelley did come over and looked at my phone to verify that the text to 50886 would not go through; however Shelly stated that she was not able to manually provide me with a 10% discount on my purchase. I asked to speak to upper management in which management was called, and a female by the name of Carla in upper management came over; however she was no help and also stated that she could not override the system or manually provide me with a 10% discount. I asked Carla for corporate's phone number, in which Carla stated that she did not know the number. How is Carla a manager and don't know corporate's number? What type of manager refuses to provide a customer with corporate's number when asked? I then asked Google for Forman Mills corporate number and Google provided me the following number 856-486-1447. Thank you Google!. I dialed the number and it is the number to corporate, however noone answered when I pressed zero for an operator so I left a message including my phone number. I called back and pressed the option for Operations and again no one answered. I called back and press the option for Human Resources and again no one answered. I called back and pressed option 8 and again no one answered. How is it that no one answered the corporate number after all the times I have called and selected a different option each time!? I see why management has no good customer service skills and are unable to assist their customers in store. Absolutely unacceptable and I will no longer spend my hard earned money at a business who cannot assist me as a customer. No business who value their customers would be willing to lose a customer over a 10% discount. That says a lot about management and Forman Mills. I will never return so I hope that 10% discount that I did not receive today was worth it. Last but not least, how is it that the cashier was able to enter my phone number, name, and zip code in the system to see if I was a member, but was not able to use that same system and my information to sign me up to become a rewards member? Despite my service animal being properly trained and necessary for my disability, I was publicly confronted, embarrassed in front of other customers, and forced to leave. The entire incident was captured on the store’s security cameras, providing clear evidence of this discrimination. This is not just poor customer service - it’s illegal. Service animals are federally protected under the ADA, and businesses cannot refuse service or remove customers who rely on them. The staff at this location clearly lacks proper training on disability rights and ADA compliance. This kind of treatment is degrading and violates basic civil rights protections. All the womens clothing was either out dated, just ugly, or looked like something only a woman of the night would wear. When it came time to check out, the cashier (young lite skinned girl) was so high and slow someone else opened another register.
