It's totally ridiculous to charge someone $220 dollars for a trim , a bit of bleach application , and a bit of toner application - for 2-3 inch hair that barely requires half a bottle of product to cover the scalp . My hair was falling out from severe damage and eventually turned into a mullet from the uneven lengths due to all the shedding . The mullet only reached my shoulder so it wasn't like they were cutting away at tons of hair to begin with . One of the many reasons I don't understand why I was obligated to pay $60?!..
Despite that , I STILL let it be & made the appointment . I sat down with the stylist & literally said " I want a pixie hair cut-" and the stylist just started clipping away , without letting me explain in detail what I wanted . There was a slight language barrier. The secretary was right there to translate . The stylist could've brought her over to do so . I found it to be unprofessional of the stylist to just cut away . Regardless - I stood quiet and tried to "trust" in her work . Big mistake .
The haircut itself matured me in an unflattering way , It fits for an older women . They washed my hair and there I decided to touch up the roots , the bottom half of my hair was pale almost - platinum blonde . However , the first application of bleach wasn't enough to match the roots to the bottom half of my hair . Therefore , I asked for a second application of bleach . The stylist was fine with it but I wanted to know the total cost of everything before we proceeded . Apparently the price had now gone up to $150.
This is the initial $60 dollars mentioned over the phone and now the additional whopping $80 dollars for the first bleach session . Keeping in mind this only makes $140 so I have no clue where the other additional $10 dollars came from. The receptionist kept giving me some weird explanation . Overall it came off improvised but at the same time calculated enough to strategically tax me . Apparently they charge $80 PER bleach session , and this is just your base pay for hair that measures three** inches . I refuse to believe that the "quality" of product is the reason.
A stylist should ask you what hair style and hair color your looking to achieve , tell you what measures you'll have to take to achieve that , and then disclose to you the total price . Conclusion : I had no choice but to pay twice because I had orange roots and platinum ends . I paid the extra $80 bucks & once the hair was fully done I wasn't impressed. I had a bad cut & a completely different color than platinum. Edit : notice the owner's condescending remark at the end of his response lol...
Read moreI made an appointment with Joe for my 1st curly haircut ever. I was so excited & looked forward to this day for months, but to my surprise it was not worth the wait or the drive. If you are booking an appointment at this salon with Joe be aware you are NOT only getting seen by him. All he did was cut my hair & once he finished he had someone wash my hair (which is fine that's how it goes at most salons). But what confused me the most was the same person who washed my hair also styled my hair and diffused it. If I made an appointment to see a certain hairstylist who's speciality is curls should I have not gotten styled/diffused by him as well? I noticed he gave attention to his other clients i.e styling & diffusing their hair but I did not receive the same attention towards my hair. Nonetheless once the man Jose finished my hair it was HORRIBLE. I had absolutely NO curl definition what so ever. He used deva curl ultra defining gel on my hair and it's a product I've used for 3 years now and never does it leave my hair the way it came out. Joe then came over and said he did not like how it looks & asked if they could rewash my hair. He then had this lady Jamie cowash my hair & style it again, this time with products I've never even heard of (Afros & rizos). Again Jamie had diffused my hair and it honestly didn't look much different than the last time. Joe then proceeded to cut w.e strands that needed cutting and my appointment was finish. I find it a little absurd I made an appointment with someone to only get 15 mins in his chair for a dry cut. I'm not even sure if his "assisants" are even devacurl certified. I walked out the salon as if I was on my 4th day hair, it was a big frizz ball. Although I have no complainants on my actual haircut I am HIGHLY disappointed with the service I received at this salon, I was really expecting SO MUCH MORE. I ended up rewashing & styling my hair a few days later the EXACT way Jose did. (Used only devacurl gel and diffused right after) my results were way different than his. My picture of my hair speaks for itself. If you are looking to get a curly haircut from this salon please call and ask questions 1st before you go & make sure it's exactly what u are looking for. Definitely not worth the price I paid for to see Joe to only get...
Read moreFirst off the place is pretty run down. For the cost of the haircut I expected something nicer. They had bucket for dripping ceiling ( didn't look like a recent problem) right next to the styling chair. My stylist Jose was 10 minutes late and strolled in with a cup of coffee that he had time to stop and get..lol He wasn't very friendly and it wasn't a language barrier because I speak Spanish. The haircut was ok so I thought since I cant see the back of my hair and made an appointment to come back. When I arrived home and washed my hair the front was super uneven with really long pieces in some areas. I just snipped them myself. And then my daughter mentioned that the back of my head was the same all over. I tried styling it and drying it with a diffuser and had all these strays sticking out everywhere. I am letting my gray come in and I know I can be frizzy but it wasn't that. When I called and canceled the appointment and expressed this to the women who answered the phone she said I could come in so that they could fix it.. why would I do that?? or Miguel would call me back since I didn't say something immediately after the appointment. Still waiting on that call. My hair was already super short. So I had to wait for it to grow out a bit but got a haircut for $35 including tip and my hair looks great. No more random hairs sticking out. Save your money . Everyone that walks out of there has the same mullet haircut lol.. **In response to Joe Miguel.. I was there in June and there was a leaky ceiling with the bucket. Now on top of getting a bad haircut you are accusing me of lying? For as much as you charge I am sure you can afford more in rent if the landlord is so difficult. Your problem not the customers. Your high paying customer shouldn't have to sit next to a bucket of water because the ceiling is leaking. The thing is I would have paid double had I gotten an amazing haircut. Which def was...
