Jack E Hill Park — Attraction in Elk Grove

Spring 2023 update. Playground area still closed for construction. Lots of wildflowers in bloom along the creek. Fishermen are starting to catch a few nowvthat the flow is reduced. Mostly Largemouth bass. One guy reported catching a decent sized Black Crappie. (Late April).

New for Fall 2022: the city is upgrading the children's playground. There will be two separate play arras-- one for really young kids, and one for older kids. A shaded adjacent.seating area for parents/guardians, and new landscape plantings. They are also installing an adult exercise station nearby. Concrete work is complete as of Thanksgiving weekend. Will update as things progress. Nice neighborhood park with access to the Laguna Creek Trail. Lots of wildlife visible on the trail, particularly during the cooler weather: Snowy Egrets, Great Blue Herons, ducks (including the beautiful Wood Duck)-- even beavers. Nice Fall color in the park and along the trail. Some fairly large Western Redbud along the trail towards Waterman Rd. Should be spectacular in the Spring. Set in a very peaceful neighborhood this is a very large Park excellent for children to play in large green spaces. There is a baseball diamond and soccer field. This park would have gotten a five-star review except for the current remodeling that's going on which makes much of it unusable but it will be very nice once the remodel is complete and would deserve a five-star rating. It is currently having the playground remodeled and is set to open in Spring of 2023 there are walking trails a dog station and exercise station. The restrooms are clean and well maintained. It's a pretty big park lots of grass area and trees. But most of the kids playground slides are broken and some of playground equipment is closed. 2 swings for babies, no normal swings. We've been going for about a month but the damaged playground equipment looks like it's been broken a lot longer. There is a trail that leads from Elk Grove Florin and Bond (small parking lot to the right of the apartments) to this park. It's a nice walk and you might see some turtles in the creek...
