I've been visiting the area for over a decade, but on this last trip, I discovered Tabor House for the first time while driving through town. My family and I are huge history buffs, so stumbling upon this was a real treat!
We were warmly welcomed upon arrival and offered a free tour of the property. Traveling with young children can be tricky, but the tour guides were thoughtful and provided a scavenger hunt to keep the kids engaged throughout the tour.

Read morePretty cool. Everyone was very nice. Learned some memorable stuff, actually probably the most memorable part of the trip. Well, other than driving up those crazy roads to our cabin. They also let you use the bathroom. Which is honestly why I went there at first. But I’m glad I did. It’s free. Idk why everyone doesn’t stop by here. Shout out to the volunteers! My husband and I stopped and spent about an hour on this guided tour. There are many donated artifacts that are on display at this museum, with the two volunteers providing background stories of several of them.
