When I moved to downtown SF I made the decision to rely solely upon public trans/taxis (pre-uber) and have rarely regretted my decision... shopping at this location being one of those two occasions. With the mass exodus of affordable retail outlets that's taken place over the last few years in downtown SF, my generation of bargain shopper (for whom the tactile element still supercedes the convenience of overnight delivery and the hassle of the dressing room is still preferable to the hassle of repacking/returning) has had to venture outside of our comfort zone to shop. Some places aren't so bad, but many of the shopping centers (especially the suburban locations) are geared almost entirely to the fossil fuel dependent majority (even here in the so-called land of social enlightenment the SUV still, sadly, reigns; parking lots are huge and very few alternatives exist). This is perhaps the most noticable example of the trend; the stores at this location are so widely spaced that few drivers would simply park and walk between them, and for those of us reliant upon rideshare/public transit, the space between stores actually acts as a deterrent to any large scale purchases (I find myself walking out, abandoning items in their cart when I remember an item of more consequence, at a store further down the lot, that I have yet to purchase, and it hits me just how far I'm going to have to walk to get there). The items lose their appeal when one begins to see them as "5lbs, 2lbs, 8lbs". 15lbs is quite a bit more than it seems at the end of a long day in heels, believe me! With Christmas around the corner I find myself frustrated that I am going to have to venture even further abroad to find a location that's more conveniently situated, more...
Read moreThe East Bay Bridge? What the heck I look on my places I visited and this is on here allowing me to write a review. Well let me see here do you all want to know if the bridge is in fact strong enough to withstand a major California earthquake? To be honest I don't think so. Or do you want me to tell you about how unfortunate it is that the people whom live around the bay area don't even get vouchers that you only have to pay for the bridge 1 time during the a day. My friend works for a trucking company and he has 3 axles so that means he pays 5x the amount 2 axles vehicles and he goes over the bridge at least 5 times in one day. Man I wish there was a way we could incorporate volunteering for PG&e in trade for bridge toll vouchers or only have to pay one time a day. I mean if you cross the bridge 5x all within 6 hours there should be some kind of forgiveness I mean please who in their right mind would vote yes to raising the bridge toll 1$ every year for 3 years. Oh ya and they lied about where the money is going to go too. Oh ya let me see its the people that never have to drive over the bridge. Thanks...
