I had a highly distressing experience at the mall yesterday when my sister, while walking, suddenly became very unwell. She could barely see, couldn’t walk, and urgently needed something sugary and salty to stabilize her. I rushed to a nearby candy store for candy, but she also needed water, and none of the vending machines were working. She still couldn’t function properly and needed something salty to prevent her condition from worsening.
Calling 911 in this situation would have taken far too long, so the quickest option was to get something for her myself.
I spotted a Starbucks and ran there, desperate for anything that could help. The line was huge, so I went straight to the counter where orders are picked up and explained the situation to the employees, saying, “My sister is about to faint. She’s lying down and cannot walk. Please, can I have ANYTHING for her to eat? I will pay or come back to pay later. I just need something right now.” I repeated this multiple times, clearly explaining the urgency of the situation.
Their response was appalling. They looked at me confused and said, “Sorry, we would have to ring you up at the register.” I pleaded again, saying, “I will absolutely pay. Just please give me something—anything.” They ignored the urgency of the situation.
With no help from Starbucks, I ran to the food court, trying to find something salty. Employees at other places either weren’t there, were slow, or told me I needed to wait in line. Finally, I found Dairy Queen, where there was no line. The employees were quick, understood the situation, and rang me up immediately in seconds.
What if she had gone into shock? The lack of empathy from some of these businesses is alarming. Emergencies can happen to anyone, and in such moments, basic compassion and flexibility are critical. If someone’s health is in danger, a store’s policy shouldn’t come before helping someone in need. I’m deeply disappointed and hope businesses here, especially Starbucks, reevaluate their policies and train their staff to respond with kindness and urgency during...
Read more0 stars. Would not recommend. Was in Vegas for a kids football tournament from out of state. On Friday, decided to visit based on the 4 star rating. Parked in the lot near Lane Bryant. Was obviously targeted and robbed and the 911 dispatcher refused to send the police. She told me to contact my insurance and file a police report but because the police department was CLOSED?! I’d have to wait until they were open next week!!! This mall is not clearly unsafe and didn’t seem to offer a premium shopping experience. The mall interior looked run down and had more vendors than legitimate stores. The foot court had limited options and the “security” was no where to be found. We ordered food from the only open restaurant and while waiting for our order, my car was vandalized and I had some items stolen. The police declined to respond to even do a welfare check despite obvious safety concerns for myself and my children in an unfamiliar area. We were forced to drive sitting in glass that we were too afraid and unprepared to clean while holding my 1yr old granddaughter as I informed the 911 dispatcher that the thirty azz thieves decided to shatter the window where her car seat was placed! You need to use EXTRA precaution if you come here especially WOMEN. Know that YOU ARE ON YOUR OWN. THERE IS NO POLICE RESPONSE, NO SECURITY AND 0 PROTECTION!!! These pathetic people target the people struggling to get by. I find it sad and disgusting that they would steal from a single mom with small children present, 3 days before Christmas. They could care less what people are going through or how hard they work just to live! I had to transport my kids for the duration of the trip and many hours home in unsafe conditions. I’m grateful we made it home safely. Absolutely Will NOT...
Read morePreviously known as The Beltz Mall, this is a really cool little outlet mall with big variety at a small price. It is always kept cleaned up,and was recently completely remodeled making it even more appealing and modern. Taxis are readily available out front. Being on the South end of the strip it does attract tourists but not as many as the malls right down town do. You will actually find many locals love shopping here. They have everything from clothes, toys, kitchen stuff, luggage, perfume, sunglasses, children's clothes, a photo lab, storage store, you name it. The prices are awesome in most cases and their are many name brand outlets in here as well. There a Levi Store, Nike,Reebok, The Container Store, Carters, Coach, etc. There's also a variety of fun gimmick shops along the center isle, some with some really neat , fun stuff. It has 2 food courts and even has a working merry go round for the kids. Of course you must pay to ride that. I believe it's a couple of bucks per ticket. They also participate in all of the holidays by doing photos with Santa and with The Easter Bunny, etc. It can get pretty crowded so you have to be OK with a little bumping and nudging every now and then. Overall it's a really fun mall. It's the kind of mall that's fun even if your not planning on spending any money, but just want to look around or people watch. One of my favorite malls out...
