Evansville Museum was the perfect stop on a snowy day! A blend of history, science, art, and transportation all in one place. The hands-on science exhibits are fun and reminiscent of The Magic House in St. Louis—just on a smaller scale. The history section is truly special, with a recreated town featuring wood floors and charming storefronts. The art museum was partially under construction, but the available exhibit space showcased an eclectic mix of modern art, sculptures, prints, and paintings. The transportation exhibits, housed in a separate building, highlighted the railroad’s impact on the region. If you’re in Evansville, take an hour or two to explore—it’s worth the visit! Exploring life 1 sip, 1 bite and 1 small town at time. Explore everything!

CHOO CHOO! Brings a fresh engine tear to my eye. God Bless my Great Grandfather United States Railroad Engineer who proudly laid Tracks his entire life for his country Mr. Ralph Lockyear of Evansville, Indiana & the rest of my Presidential family members that came before me and blessed The United States of America with this classic form of Transportation of Goods, Citizens & all other materials most needed and important. Much love- Ambassador Nicholle Christine Edwards 🇺🇳🇺🇸

Beautiful and quaint! Visited 8/17/24 and had a lovely time with friends. Did the train tour and the Museum. Went because they found a Picasso that was mislabeled now hanging. Most exciting part was the interactive "create your own still life" table. Once you can wrangle it away from the kids it's a great thing for adults to get in touch with your creative side. Big plus is it's on the Riverfront, you can get your steps in or visit the nearby restaurant. Worth a go.

I suppose if you see a rental truck outside that means you shouldn't go because the whole back art gallery was closed off for an event. Which would have been fine if the World Art and Artifacts was open. It wasn't. At least there's the large gallery to look forward to. Wrong. It's about 1/3 full with none of the classical art that once graced its walls. It's a large-ish area of the history of the museum with a big pat on the back to the directors. With 4 small and one large Picasso pieces shoved in the corner. There were 2 1/2 more small walls of art as well as the religious art. The art that was there was beautiful in its own right, but it seems misleading to hang a large banner for the Picasso exhibit when there's not a lot there and it isn't even prominent. So, if you're going for art, don't bother. They need to take art out of their name at this rate. On our way out I read that a lot of their upstairs art exhibits will be rotating, fun choice of words considering there is barely any art. And it's not all from construction either, it's roped off for private events or blank walls. Anyway, left in tears, won't...

My family and I had a chance to experience the Solar System Tour at the Koch Immersive Theater & Planetarium. While we enjoyed aspects of the show, there were a few areas that could benefit from improvement.

During the presentation, there was some inconvenience when the presenter faced challenges with the electronics, resulting in about 10 minutes of darkness.

I noticed that some of the data presented appeared to be outdated, which could have been updated for a more accurate representation.

Nevertheless, we appreciated the effort put into the presentation, and the visuals of the Solar System were captivating. With a more focused approach on the solar system, the tour could be even more enriching...
