I called ahead to ask if there was time available for a walk-in gel mani + pedi. After being assured there was, I headed over. It took me less than 5 minutes to arrive. I was led to a pedicure station before I even had a chance to look at the colors. I went back to select my color. One of the three ladies filled the pedicure bowl and had me sit down. I sat there for more than 20 minutes, waiting with my feet in lukewarm water for someone to be free. Three different women worked on my manicure and pedicure at three separate times, not in tandem. My toes (which I’m insecure about; that’s why there’s no photo) are splotchy and unevenly cut. I tried to be more lenient with my fingernails because I am a nail bitter but they are terrible. Splotchy, thick coats of gel which left huge areas unpolished, not to mention the polish all over my fingers. The polish on my pinky actually came off when I tried to correct some of the overflow of polish. On top of that my cuticles are sore from improper removal. Only perk was the removal of ingrown toenails in my feet but…at what cost? I don’t even think nail technicians are legally supposed to do that? Like, what is this? $85 for a trash mani + pedi. There were nail clippings all over the floor, hair and nail clippings in the pillow they put on my lap, and all of their white towels are stained and dirty looking. I didn’t see any technician remove tools from sterilized bags. Hate this. Will not recommend nor will I...
Read moreI went to the old owners, too. And was happy with my nails, but was not happy with the general cleanliness of the shop but went anyway because my nails looked so nice. When they closed, I found another shop closer to my home, and LOVED the way they did my nails and pedi.... but then they closed! Ugh! So back to Galaxy under the new management... just to try it out. The first time I had my nails done, they were VERY nicely done by Jesse. I was also happy with the pedi and prices. I went back a couple of weeks later for a hair "trim" with Tommy and he really "gets it". For the first time in 4 years I have found someone who can cut my hair the way I want it. I went in this week for a fill, and it is the worst! Jesse only works on Wednesday, so Jeri did my fill and gel. It took her NO LESS than 2 HOURS!!!!! and she cut my cuticles in four places. The acrylic is lumpy, and the polish doesn't cover my whole nail... just pretty much a stripe down the middle. Plus! she charge me 40 bucks!!! I don't get that at all!!! (unless she charges by the hour for being so slow.) IF YOU GO THERE GET JESSE!!!! Go on Wednesday and do NOT let anyone else do your fill!! I will go back for haircuts and to see Jesse - but will not go back at all if they continue...
Read moreAw man, I hate giving one star reviews.. Yesterday arpund 4:10pm, we came in and Asked for 2 fills, they were able to take us (not busy at the time). One lady seemed a bit inexperienced, since she had to wait for her peer to help her (understandable), so it tool a little longer to get things going. About 1.5 hrs in, 3 people came in, and by the tension they gave off, the workers asked us if we could pause for 10 minutes (it seemed that they made an appointment that may have been overlooked?) It took them 45 minutes to return to us, and we were met with haste. Mistakes became very time consuming (forgot to cure acrylic so they started over, nail buffing came out really bumpy and painful, and unable to do the cat-eye style they had different styles that they do, nothing extreme, we chose a simple option and they cured the nail before magnetizing), and we tried to just ask for a removal before they put more effort, but they insisted, we ended up choosing simple nail colors. But one of the girls went home at closing, and the other 2 guys just waited around for the last girl to finish us up.
We didn't walk out of there until 8:30pm. Yeah. Over 4 hours, dude.
Personally, the nails in the end were not glam enough to...
