Warning to all summer 2024 visiting architectural enthusiasts. Kahn’s bathhouse is being used for a summer camp and those in charge are very hostile to visitors. Visited today after years of this being on my bucket list. I brought my daughter and a close friend from college and we were treated like we were in a police state. When my daughter attempted to play on the PUBLIC playground near the house, the camp counselors told us we weren’t allowed to because our “presence was a liability.” I didn’t realize random profit-gaining enterprises can now monopolize public spaces. I spoke to Ted, the man in the charge of the operation, about how ludicrous and unfair this unposted rule he was imposing was, he was belittling, completely heartless and unkind.
