A few months ago i found myself in need of physical therapy for a knee injury. I've had my fair share of injuries, and have been to physical therapy a few times in the past, but I knew that this time was going to be different. I've learned that a lot of time during injury recovery, you see the doctor maybe once every few weeks for kind of high level, broad strokes type stuff, and the rest of the time you're day to day with the PT. They are the ones on the ground treating you, so to speak.
So I decided this time to make an effort to seek out a smaller place that would spend a lot of time with me as a patient, rather than go to a large place that tries to churn out patients like numbers. I did some research and stumbled upon Stoneking Physical Therapy. I noticed right off the bat they seemed like a local, community organization, not some monster chain. I also could help but notice the glowing reviews I found online. Most importantly I found out that it was a father/son team, and that the father had been president of the American Physical Therapy Association. I knew this meant they would stay up to date in treatments and best practices.
Ultimately I needed surgery for the knee which left me going through months of physical therapy. The team at Stoneking was very professionally, courteous, helpful, and friendly. They spent time with me each visit, and did not just hand me off to a tech. They weren't trying to jam in new appointments in every 15 minutes like other places I'd been that left me fighting for attention. They answered all of my questions, helped me with at-home exercises to continue to recover faster, and were flexible with the scheduling. If anyone in the area asked me for a physical therapy recommendation this would be at the...
Read moreI had a problem with my arm and went to an orthopedic surgeon to diagnosis and treat. I had used this doctor before for a broken wrist, but my experience this time was not good. No exam. Did not appear to listen. I left with a wrist brace and recommendation for physical therapy. Multiple attempts to discuss further with doctor were unsuccessful.
After more weeks of discomfort, I contacted Stoneking Physical Therapy and Wellness Center. Although there are many choices for physical therapy centers in my local area, I chose Stoneking which is about 35 minutes from my home. Richard Stoneking was recommended by friends. Richard did a complete, hands-on exam. He came-up with a treatment plan that included home exercises. A wrist brace was useless for my condition. After a few weeks of physical therapy with Richard I was rehabilitated!
For any future Physical Therapy need I would, without question, go back to Stoneking Physical Therapy...
Read moreWhen I injured my back I was in such pain that I feared I would never again enjoy many of the things that I loved to do, like gardening and hiking. I thought I would need to get a landscaping company to do my lawn. I thought my life had changed and it would be forever. But after receiving physical therapy treatments from Richard and Brandon Stoneking and their staff, my life turned around. It was a gradual process and there was no miracle moment. I just returned less frequently for treatment because it ceased to be the priority it had been. Now I was more active and actually didn't have time for PT. These people are great-no exaggeration. They know what they are doing. And they do it...
