The Bourbon Bayou Bistro — Restaurant in Fairborn

I really wanted to like this place, because honestly the food is good. I have ordered takeout as well as delivery through doordash. Takeout isn't terrible, although be sure to check your order as I was given the wrong one and had to take it back inside. Delivery though, is pretty bad. 1 - the containers are not sealed, and every single time the sauce from your food will have leaked out all over the plastic grocery store type bag, which can quickly become quite the mess. 2 - If you order cornbread, chips, drinks, anything that's not "Put chicken and this in a box", they will 100% forget something. Has happened all 4 times I've ordered. And finally the last straw for me today, 3 - The portions do not seem to be controlled. When I order a large chicken only and pay $15, I expect more food than what comes in the $10 chicken w/1 side. The container was half empty, and the chicken was mostly tiny pieces, as if they didn't want to make another batch and just gave me what was left in a pan and hoped I wouldn't mind. My "Large" lo mein was also about the same amount you get in the small chicken with 1 side. And honestly, $6 for a large rice or large lo mein with no meat is already kinda crazy, even if it is a decent size. Again, it's a shame because the food is actually good. But I'm not getting the value for my money, and my order is never complete. Unfortunately, I'm done giving this place chances. I will be getting my bourbon chicken from other places from now on.

Edit: I definitely understand that doing things on your own is hard as I also get no help from family and do everything myself. This is why it's important for me to get what I pay for. I would suggest though, for the containers, wrapping them in clingwrap as a cheap solution. Gave this place another try for a late lunch from Doordash as I was only feeding myself. Doordash estimates for this establishment are way off, indicated 15 minutes and was actually closer to 30. Not an issue for me but something to be aware of.

The food was disappointing in number of ways. I ordered the same meal I had carried out previously. When the container arrived I assumed they had forgotten some of my food. Nope, just seriously reduced portion size. The last time I got a full size carryout 3 compartment container with ample portioned sides and two large pieces of fish. This time there was one small piece of over-seasoned fish.

The potatoes were fine. The rice was way too much for the container and the spicy rice suffered from lack of flavor, just an overabundance of what I am guessing was cayenne pepper.

I would not be posting this had I received the same meal portions as last time and would just go about my day and not order again. $16 for the amount of food I received from an establishment in downtown Fairborn is way overpriced. I can walk across the street and get...

My family and I have always loved the food here but unfortunately I will never order from them again due to the customer service and employees attitudes. I ordered 2 large burbon chickens with the 2 sides and when I got home to finally eat after waiting 40 minutes to pick up my food one of the boxes had NO chicken just the 2 sides so I politely called and told them and the employee on the phone said “that’s our bad” so then I asked if they can remake it WITH THE CHICKEN I ALREADY ORDERD and payed for, He said yes, he never said anything about bringing the old order back so I sent my boyfriend to go pick it up for the second time not thinking he would need the messed up order that nobody told me to bring.
