Another bad experience with the recreational side yesterday. I just missed the Medical side, so had to wander over to rec (poorer options and higher pricetag).
They were having trouble with the card machine again and it looked like my card didn't go through the first time, so they ran it again. Later last night, I noticed that my card had in fact been charged twice. I was already spending more being on the rec side where I don't get my medical discount, so this was a significant hit. Ankylosing Spondylitis is causing bones to slowly fracture & fuse (as well as attacking my connective tissues & organs). Tinctures and edibles are the only way I can get somewhat decent sleep so I make them part of my budget. This card charge error put me WELL OVER said budget :(
Oh well, stuff happens. Figured I'd shoot them an email and go from there. Emailed last night, no response at all today. No biggie, it's a holiday weekend / I'm sure they're busy.
So, I went back in person after work. Explained the problem to Priscilla, and she seemed understanding, but after going back to check said, "there's nothing wrong on our end."
But, what really gets me is she, the MANAGER, said "We can't just go around giving money out." Excuse me? But I can? And who was asking for that? All she had to say is, I'm sorry for the inconvenience, we're doing x, y, or z to prevent this from continuing to happen with our card readers, and we'll follow up with you on Tuesday, after the bank holiday. Not accuse a regular customer of being a beggar because your machine put two charges on her checking account.
Now, a good way to handle this would to be to say something along the lines of- It looks like it was an error because our machine wasn't working properly, but the first charge should come off after Monday (because of the holiday). She more or less said that, except replace card machine error with - the issue is with your bank (Navy Federal Credit Union, plus I told her I physically witnessed the card machine malfunction, so yeah, no.)
/end Update/reason I'll likely be making the trip to Sunnyside in Fall River going forward. I don't have the same rapport as I do with Bask's med-side budtenders, but it will be worth the trip to miss the manager's attitude. A little compassion and professionalism go a long way!

Yesterday you sold me a set of 5 Evolve replacement coils for $7 - which is a great deal buuuut your budtender told me they would work w/ either of the two Evolve pens you sell (another budtender even backed him up on this). Read moreTwo weeks ago we were here on a Saturday. To note, we have been coming for months and spend a sizable amount of money each visit. We like the staff and the ambiance of the facility and had never had an issue until June 12 when we were given our bag with an item missing….they “counted” out the items and checked them off but it was extremely busy and my husband was trying to move along as quickly as possible for the other folks in the store, there were several items in our order and we didn’t notice at the point of sale. We called immediately when we got home and were told they would look into it and call us back. We never heard back, I called and left two messages on Sunday and Monday…..waited 48 hours and never heard back. I called again five days later and finally spoke with a young woman who seemed really kind- apologized that no one had gotten back to us and said they would look into it and call us back. Of course they never did. My husband was ready for another visit and went in tonight to make a purchase and asked to speak to the manager about the missing product from our last visit. The manager was extremely rude and dismissive and just kept repeating that all sales are final. This really isn’t about the $ lost or the product never received but it blows my mind that an establishment that handles controlled substances wouldn’t want to at least look into the matter to understand where the product went, as it absolutely didn’t come home with us and I would imagine they keep immaculate counts of their products. We have the product name, the register number, the date and exact time of the sale…..should be pretty easy to check the cameras. Again, my husband spent hundreds of dollars there tonight and the reaction of this manager as he assured us they would NOT be looking into the matter was...
