I found my experience at store #616, Akron Fairlawn area, to be very good as far as the store itself. My problem was with the "NO WEAPON ALLOWED SIGN" posted on the entrance. I have been known not to shop at any store posting these signs and I almost walked away. I do not agree as a law abiding citizen that this is necessary. All this sign does is to provide an open invitation to those who want to break the law along with the possibility of being a threat to your customers. If law abiding citizens go to the trouble to get a license to carry a weapon for their own protection, their family, and others that are being threaten, against those who have no regard to any law(s), then what gives your business the right to disregard those rights of ours. I would sincerely hope that the Corporate Authorities of Guitar Center faciities would reconsider this posting and remove it. If the only means for law abiding citizens to maintain their rights is to stop shopping at any of your Centers, then and only then, may you realize that we are protecting our rights and the rights outlined in the 2nd amendment of the US Constitution. You may think that this means nothing, I am only one customer, but please do not look at it this way. Look at the statistics of how many US citizens have exercised their rights, and if all those law abiding citizens choose not to shop at Guitar Center - what would the financial losses be for you and those affected when those losses occur. Feel free to contact me and express your concerns or disagreements with what I have stated. I am only standing up for what our forefathers have provided for me. I think Guitar Center serves our community well and I would like to see this continue, but not at the cost of my rights. Thank...
Read moreI purchased a tlm102 Neumann microphone and a universal audio twin finity 710 preamp the retail value of these two items were roughly 1700$ together. I had these items two months and realized that they were way too powerful without a mixer to control them for my home apartment studio. I took them back because I tried out an Aston spirit and was expecting a nice trade in and little bit of money back because the Aston spirit mic is only 450$ retail. The guy working the counter Matt’s eyes got real big when I came in and prior mentioned he wanted one of the preamp’s I bought. However they only wanted to do trade in value and not give me no return because it was passed the 45 day mark, and being I needed to record asap and I was in a position. I should have known better but I feel like they didn’t give me the true value of my equipment they made over 1200$ in profit on resale and I went back a week later and it never even made it back on the shelf. I am really upset I did this to myself I should have just kept it. It’s just crazy to me that they didn’t offer me more even though I had the receipts. I feel shafted after awhile at first I liked the quality of the mic and thought price didn’t matter but after time I acquired a new mixer from college and I just really feel like they got over… I guess I’m paying for being under pressure back then financially still I don’t think that employee valued customers he saw what he wanted and was very persuasive in me taking the trade in value … I regret the decision and feel it would be wrong not to say something the store was fairlawn in Ohio be careful trading in or selling gear they will rip you off even though they make billions which is sad considering the artists need it more than their employees do …...
Read moreI love me some guitars and all, and I love me a guitar store close to the pet store my wife prefers because... well, you get it. But the real reason I like this store is "Tiffany." Not only is she helpful and cute, she can shred! She'll talk you into just about any instrument in the store with her dimpled smile and unparalleled demonstration of said instrument. She'll convince you that you, too, can play the 7 string with the ease and confidence of a lifelong professional, just like her. You'll spend your kid's college fund or mother's medical insurance money (you know, the check they sent so she won't die!) just to own whatever caught your eye upon entry to the store, plus all the accessories, gadgets and accompanying instruments with their accessories, gadgets and instruments, etcetera, ad nauseum. And why, you ask, would one do this? Is it the dimples? The multicolored hair? Any of the other physical attributes that could be listed? Really? Do you think me so basic? I just mentioned my wife at the start of this, so please! Dig a little deeper. Really look at what's going on here. Is it a midlife crisis? No, I'm either past that or not there yet. Is it that I'm a great musician and am ready to start my own band? Ha! Am I trying to fullfil a lifelong dream or fill a void in my life? No. Not at all. It is simple, really. She's just a talented musician and great salesperson! She could sell water to a drowning man, ice to an Eskimo, fire starters to residents of hell. It's a rare talent, and one that's being under-utilized at Guitar Center, but still, get there before she's gone on to bigger and...
