This was the worst restaurant I've ever been in. This was a Sunday afternoon about 2:30. I was the only customer in line. The dining area was not clean. The serving area was filthy. The crew of 6 was inattentive and claimed to be understaffed which should mean people actively working yet behind. I could understand that but this crew was standing doing nothing. At first I was ignored and then my order was only half completed. Then a cashier mostly rang me up but left the register and disappeared without completing the transaction. I stood for a few minutes until my food was eventually completed, now cold. In fairness, I did not know how busy the drive-thru was nor did I know how busy the call-in orders were, but the crew was just standing, doing nothing. The cashier returned a few minutes later to ring my order up a second time and then got it incorrect. The rice was crunchy and about 75% cooked. There were no beans or cheese available and the server appeared to not understand the salsas. My meal, a bowel, was quite visibly under-portioned. After standing and waiting for quite a few minutes for something, anything, to happen for my order to be finished I vocalized that I was going to cancel my order. At that time a sole DoorDash driver who was standing near the register was nice enough to intercede and got my order finally completed. There were only 3 paper napkins available at the filthy drink counter. I will speak well of all of the other Chilpotles I've been in but not of this one. Corporate Chilpotle might be interested...
Read moreChipotle always tastes amazing, so I can't complain about that. However, I visited this location during a rush the other day and was disappointed.
The cashier walked off the line mid-rush to take out the trash in the empty dining room. While she was gone, the line quickly piled up to 4 people needing to cash out, plus a mobile order with only one person actually working the line/ serving food. No one was cashing people out wile the cashier walked off the line.
When the cashier came back about 5 minutes or so later, she brought the dirty trash cans back to the dining room. Then without washing or sanitizing her hands at all, she started back at her job ringing people out.
I would also like to note that this cashier was touching her ears, face, hair, money - and TRASH CANS. Then my food.
I was livid at the fact that this happened but didn't want to come across as rude if I asked her to wash her hands. So I let her ring me out... now after eating at this location I've caught some sort of bug. Could definitely be a coincidence, however, I am writing this review because cleanliness needs to be a priority in the restaurant business.
This goes beyond the pandemic, this is basic restaurant etiquette and should be discussed with the employees at this location to prevent any kind of contamination or potential food born illness.
Again, the food was wonderful, and the one worker on the line was great. I just did not appreciate the work ethic/ dirtiness of the cashier.
Sorry...
Read moreThe route 18 Akron store is absolutely the worst chipotle I’ve ever been in. Don’t even try to order Online unless you want something just thrown together and not even close to what it supposed to be. I ordered a veggie bowl with lettuce and I could literally count the strands of lettuce. They didn’t give much vegetables at all most of the meal was rice. If you want it done right you have to walk in and pretty much force them to do it the way you want. Otherwise they will rush through slapping food in a bowl carelessly just to get you through the line.
I want to update this review.
I just recently spoke to a restaurant owner that told me this about Chipotle. He was considering taking an upper management job with them years ago. This is one thing he learned. It seems that the kitchens in their restaurants are not built big enough for the employees to prep all the food in the mornings. So they have to bring it out to the dining room area and prep on the tables with paper laid over. Can you imagine what bacteria the food gets exposed to? Have you ever seen paper draped over their windows? This is why. They don’t want you to see what they’re doing because it’s unsanitary and they have to hide what they’re doing.
My opinion/rating of Chipotle is now...
