Every American child should have the opportunity to go into a WWII era submarine. It is a rare opportunity to see what your Grandparents and Great Grandparents endured and sacrificed to stop Tyrants that were attempting to conquer the world in the 1940's. These 80 year old Gato and Balao Class subs won't survive much longer as these subs were not designed to last this long and the steel they're constructed from slowly rusts. A valuable piece of American history.

USS Lionfish, a Balao-class submarine, was the only ship of the United States Navy named for the lionfish, a scorpaenid fish native to the Pacific and an invasive species found around the Caribbean.
