Tipsy Seagull Dockside Pub (seasonal) — Restaurant in Fall River

My partner and I have always wanted to visit Tipsy Seagull and we were excited to go for lunch, but we were extremely disappointed with our experience there. It was our first time there and I don’t think we will ever go back. When we first got there, we weren’t sure if we could just sit anywhere or if someone had to seat us, so we walked around a bit confused until we went to a bartender to which she told us that we could sit anywhere and that someone would be with us. We sat down and about 20 minutes later our server finally came and took our drinks. After another 10 minutes she took our food order. My meal came out about 20 minutes after and 10 minutes later after receiving my food, my partner still did not have their food. I asked our server to come over and she stated that she did not know why my partner didn’t get their food. Then another 15 minutes later, our server comes back and tells us that the meal my partner had ordered was not available. I don’t understand why it took that long to realize they were sold out of lobster, and there was no apology for it. She also did not check in on us and appeared to do that to the nearby tables as well. I never got her name either as she never introduced herself. By this point I had already finished my food and my partner wanted to leave, but I wanted him to eat because he was hungry and I felt bad. He just watched me eat for over 20 minutes and now he’s not going to eat. I do not think that’s right. He then ordered his food. Another 20 minutes goes by and still nothing. Another server came up to our server asking what my partner ordered and our server told that person what he asked for and I assumed his order never got put in because his food didn’t come out for another 20 minutes after that. We were a bit aggravated at this point, so he decided just to get a to-go box and asked for the check. Our server gave an attitude about it and clearly had a disgusted look on her face. When it came time to pay, we did not want to leave a tip as our server was very unprofessional, and because our experience there was so poor. As we were paying, she stood there, staring down my partner, and my partner decided to give her a five dollar tip as she was blatantly staring at him. She then stood there for 30 seconds just looking at the screen, then looked at my partner and gave him a nasty look. She walked away. She never offered to give us a receipt and did not tell us to enjoy the rest of our day, which is typical when you are leaving any type of place that has customer service. I should have gone to the manager at this point, but that was on me and it was not my intention to get her in trouble. I am never one to write reviews, but this experience left my partner and I extremely disappointed, and my partner should not have to leave a restaurant hungry. Yes, I understand it was our decision to leave, but please take into account how frustrating it is being in...

So at first, My friends and I were going to leave because we Did not see any waitresses were coming near us, Or any whom wanted To be bothered by us.

Then ,thank the Lord, I found an open table upstairs. Went to call my friends whom were still downstairs in order to come upstairs because I wanted them to sit there while I walked around to find a waitress (Assuming I wouldn’t be greeted at all Based on what the experience started out to be downstairs) .

To my surprise & excitement, Within seconds of me getting this table., (And I mean within seconds) This beautiful, Amazing, full of positive energy server Comes immediately over with a big smile, Fantastic personality, Happily eager to take whatever order I was going to give her lol.

I was in shock honestly because of the experience that me and my friends had downstairs to come upstairs & experience such a transformation of Great service by our server Ashley Renee.

Not only was she Super quick to greet me & then my friends as they came upstairs, she was so Unbelievably attentive, Ashley Renee completely Changed our whole entire experience completely around, turning what started out as a negative experience downstairs to an absolutely positive and fantastic night upstairs!!

We almost left Had it not been for this one server Ashley Renee!! She was absolutely 100% the reason that we stayed and why we ended up having a fantastic night!!

The food was great, but honestly as a former server, Even if it was horrible, I still would’ve said that I had a great time just because of this server Ashley Renee!!

Ashley not only Was very quick and attentive, she gave the best suggestions, Helped us with every question we had, & Even when it was super busy all around her and us, She did not show any kind of sense of anxiety, Irritation, she was a ball of sunshine the entire time!!

Being in the server Industry for about 25 years, I can tell you this type of server is VERY Rare!! you don’t find this type of service hardly ever anymore & It is also very rare for a single server to turn what was starting off as a negative experience , To the point of us almost leaving, & change it into one of the best experiences & an absolute amazing night !!

This is rare!! This is a server you are lucky to have in this establishment !! In Fact!, I Will now only go back if I know I’m having Ashley as my server and I am absolutely 100% serious!! & all of my friends feel the same !! Good job finding her!! & Great Job Renee !!

Ashley Renee, I’m hardly ever on Google. I don’t even know if you’re going to see this review but thank you for your amazing service❤️.!! Disappointing Experience Despite a Great Location

Yesterday 6/20/25 was my first time visiting Tipsy Seagull. At first glance, it seemed like a great spot with a nice vibe right on the water. I was a bit unsure about the slight rocking motion of the floating bar, but I eventually got used to it.

Unfortunately, the service and overall experience were really disappointing. Our server, Fran, greeted us and asked for our drink order. My coworkers and I ordered two strawberry lemon drops and a blueberry lemon drop. It took about 30 minutes to receive the drinks, and when they arrived, they looked nothing like any lemon drop I’ve ever had before. They were tiny, unbalanced, and tasted off not what we expected at all. I tried multiple times to get the waitress’s attention, but she repeatedly walked past our table without stopping.

When I finally got her attention and asked about the drinks, she insisted that’s just how they make lemon drops there and didn’t offer much effort to make it right. We went ahead and ordered another round of drinks instead.

Another 20 to 30 minutes passed before we were able to place our food order. Eventually, a different server came over with a round of strawberry and blueberry lemon drops and these were the proper drinks we originally expected. It was clear the first round was incorrectly made. The second server was helpful and explained this batch was “on the house” to make up for the mix-up.

However, when we got the bill, we were still charged for the original, incorrect drinks despite being told otherwise. In the end, I spent $70 for one pizza and two drinks, with very little accountability or effort from the original waitress to fix the situation.

Overall: • Food: 3/10 • Service: 1/10 • Ambiance: 4/10

Such a cool location with potential, but unfortunately the service was poor, the food was average at best, and the dishonesty about the bill really ruined the experience. I won’t be returning...
