Where do i start with this disastrous experience with northern tool. It all started the first week in october. I upped the limit on my card to purchase a standby generator expecting for the order to go through in a couple days. Over a week later they try to process the order and it gets declined because upped my limit for only 4 days. Not a huge issue so i contact them after upping my limit again to place the order. A week later it gets declined because they couldn't link the shipping address to me. So i cancel my order because frankly im tired of dealing with them at this point. I get a confirmation email that the order has been canceled, then i place the order with acme tools and have zero issues and its processed and shipped to my farm with no trouble at all. A literal month later i get an email from northern tool that my order is going to arrive shortly and im charged $4000 for the generator i canceled last month. After waiting on hold for hours and talking with no lie 7 different northern representatives i get another email saying that i will be getting charged 15% for a restocking fee and additional freight charges. This is all after i had cancelled the order and got confirmation that the order has cancelled. They tell me that I need to contact fedex and refuse the order and I need to contact generac and tell them why i'm not accepting the generator. Why am i doing all of this work to fix your mistake?????? so here i am waiting weeks and weeks with a $4000 debit on my account for a generator that i don't have nor want!!!! Read moreUnfortunately, I cannot give negative stars. I purchased an EGO snow blower for smaller snow falls. After a light snow, I found the EGO did not have enough battery power to do all the areas I need to. I returned the EGO to Norther Tool + Equipment with the receipt. I am asked several times if the batteries were fully charged. (Yes, first snow fall since I purchased, wanted to see what it could do). I am told I have to have the manager authorize the return. I waited for over a half hour for the manager, "Kim". After waiting, over a half hour (even offering to assist another customer to load his equipment) staff tell me I will need to contact EGO to authorize the return. My fault for not reading receipt, so I return home, call EGO and EGO reads Northern Tool + Equipment's return policy to me. If the customer has the receipt, no damage can return within 60 days. Back to Northern Tool + Equipment. Demand to see the manager. Again after waiting, "Kim" shows up. Will not look at me or talk to me, but only the NT+E associate. Kim tells the associate it is a battery problem, and he will have to call EGO. The Associate Sue, (Almost makes me want to go back to NT+E), tells Kim, the process I have been through. Manager still without looking at or talking to me, tells the associate, Fine, return it, walks away. Successful return, but lost a customer forever. I will never return to NT+E. Staff were nice, Manager Kim, completely awful and should not be in that position. I have spent over $1,000 at NT+E in last month. Seriously contemplating returning EVERYTHING since I now know their return policy, but that would mean stepping back...
Read moreWent there to get a belt for a snowblower. The parts guy looked it up and said they were out. He said it was a little hard to find a part number for this snowblower. So I asked if he could give me that number so I could find this belt at another location. He said no but he offered to order it, I said I need it today so no need to order it. And I asked again for the number he said no again, I was looking right at his computer screen this entire time and so I looked at the # and he seen that and x out of it. So not only did he lose my business for the day but for good, I'll never go back. I've asked for part numbers many time at other stores that did not have what I needed in stock and there happy to give me the number and even suggest a store that I could find it at. This is a 1st for me and the guy was rude the entire time as well. There's too many stores that carry what they have. No need to go...
