This place is and was the Only Chinese restaurant I would order from, for almost a decade. I used to rave about this place to Everyone - until, i tried to order food one night while at work, for family who's loved one was passing. A unnamed front counter female, who kept messing up my order, refused to give me her name because she felt uncomfortable? Yet I, the Paying Customer, would've been providing cc information to the unnamed front counter female? I was not allowed to have her first name for my own verification of whom it was I had spoke with or gave my cc information to in case of Human Error? The Manager Dave, stated she didn't have to and gave her back the phone. When I asked to speak with the Manager again this female started repeating over and over and over again, "Are you gonna place an order or not!?" "Are you gonna place an Order or not!?" Then Hung Up The Phone!? I literally looked at the phone and the number I dialed just to make sure I had actually called My Favourite Restaurant.
The Level of Anger, Embarrassment and Shame I felt, having to share with this family member. (who had already turned down a previous offer from me to buy her some food) Without telling her what had just happened, I told her, "I'll have to order you something from another place." I knew she wasn't eating or sleeping well - I mean who could going through such a trial in Life? She with her kind heart stated it was ok and it was thought that count, and she wasn't really hungry anyways... you ruined my gift! You were my favourite restaurant, and upheld your employees ignorance, instead of trying to provide even baseline customer service. There are So Many Things The Manager Dave Should Have Done, like take my order and re educate your counter person on what it means to Serve The Customer- who Essentially Pays Your Wages and Then Some... My Point to this is to tell you I Will NEVER EVER eat or spend 1 penny at this restaurant ever again. I work for The People. My job totally relies on the quality of my customers satisfaction with the Level Of Service that I Provide. I could not Imagine, becoming SO "Proud of Myself," that I Forget to Serve The People. That Is My Job. Losing my money may not bother you - you have already expressed that on the day your employee hung up on me. It's just Horrible how Popularity trumps Integrity. When all I wanted to do was share a gift with someone, who was...
Read moreI ordered take out from Nine Dragons. 3 minutes after I ordered, I called them back to request that the gravy be on the side and not on the egg foo young. I know if was 3 minutes because I checked my phone. First call was 8:05 and lasted 4 minutes till 8:09. Second call was made at 8:13 to request gravy on the side. When I arrived for my order it was not correct. The "so called" manager arrived at the drive up window and told me the cook had already made the egg foo young and had added the gravy. I told him I would wait for a new item to be cooked. He told me that in order to get my item remade, I would need to pay for both orders of egg foo young. 9 dollars each. I told him that was not going to happen. I told him he was going to loose the entire 20.00 order and a life long customer and he said that would be fine. I asked for the owner and the manager told me it would do no good because the owner was the one that said how this was going to go. I left with out my food. Totally devastated!! I live out of town but was raised in FM area. I have been going to nine dragon's my entire life. I called back to speak to the owner and he was even worse then the manager. I will NEVER go there again and wanted the public to know how unprofessional, rude, horrible and just totally wrong these two men were. Please be aware. Never place a special order!! Never expect these 2 men to be public friendly. Never go there unless you would like to be abused and...
Read moreI went to them when they were "The Golden Phoenix". My great-grandma used to take me there since I could anything besides baby food. I am now 30 years old. I remember how heartbroken I was when I walked up to the door in So. Moorhead and the doors didn't open. Then we started going to the Fargo location by Scheels. A couple of years ago upon a visit to Fargo, I wanted my Chinese again and was informed of the new location and I had talked up this place to my husband before hand not knowing they had moved - I was so disappointed and totally embarrassed. Heartbroken again. The atmosphere was terrible - getting our food up at a counter on a tray, wobbly tables that weren't clean and chairs that made that terrible noise when moving them across a tile floor. Not to mention being offered next to Pizza and co. They totally saw a marketing loophole here. Sad they had to take something and someplace so wonderful and turn it into what they have or at least have left the old place open which had atmosphere. The service was also terrible, especially since we weren't accustomed to the "new ways" and were treated as if we were stupid. I crave "The Golden Phoenix" all the time, and it is so sad to know that even though the taste is still somewhat there, it will still never be the same and even more disappointing when I have to eat 'other"...
