First time returning to Popeyes since they opened up years ago!!! I'll definitely have to make the trip over to get them more often. My bonus daughter (BD from henceforth) loves them as they remind her a bit of home and she was who I was with on this visit. We visited shortly after school let out for the day. We both ordered nearly the same thing: 3 piece chicken tender dinner. Hers was spicy; mine was mild. She got rice and beans and additional fries while I decided to torture myself (L.I) and get Mac and Cheese. We both got sweet tea to drink with our meals and it's some of the best in the FM. Cane sugar makes way better sweet tea than sugar from sugar beets (sorry to our beet farmers out there)! It didn't take long to get our food. It came out nice and hot. BD did have to return to the counter and ask for her fries as they had forgotten to include them. This occasionally happens when a place is busy so I don't hold it against them. They were wonderful and fast about fixing their error (and I had kept the receipt JIC an error occurred). The last time I had come here (years ago), I had been turned off by an excessive amount of breading on the chicken. This time, I was quite happy to be able to taste the chicken along with a pleasant amount of breading. I wish I had taken a picture. They were a little pale compared to most chicken tenders received anywhere else; so much so that BD thought I ordered fish instead. However, they were cooked adequately and tasted delicious. I can't speak for BD's food but she ate what she could and took her leftovers home. I didn't see a point in reheating my Mac and cheese later; although it was tasty.
They give a generous amount of sauce to go with your tenders. They also included honey and jam(?) In our bag for the biscuits. I never touched the biscuit as I was too full off the tenders and maybe 3 bites of Mac and cheese. Over all, I was happy with service and the amount of food for the price. Read moreThe staff seemed very unorganized, lacking time management skills and unable to operate as a team. While the cashier just stood there chatting up customers and also with co-workers, a single employees was putting the take-out, dining-in and pick-ups such as doordash. She was spread way too thin, unable to keep up and we're waiting over 15 min for 2- 2pc combos. Meanwhile at least 2 employees in back we're standing around doing nothing but leaning against their station shaking their heads and laughing cracking jokes and making remarks under their breath. To top it off now 18 min into our order they inform us there's no legs and offered a substitute or spicy legs were an option. My daughter got 2 sides of redbeans and rice when she asked for mashed potatoes and gravy and mac and cheese. We weren't given our drink cups, napkins or honey that we asked for or plastic ware. IT was a to go order. I love Popeyes, the food is good but I am extremely unhappy with the service. In 1985 Popeyes was my 1st and only fast food restaurant I ever worked at and Popeyes had pride, we were held to a higher standard. First off, the drive-thru speaker box was out of order, but there was no sign posted until you get all the way up to the window — which shows a serious lack of effort and customer consideration. It’s not hard to place an “Out of Order” sign by the speaker to save people time and frustration.
To make matters worse, after I went inside to order takeout when I got home, I found multiple items missing from my to-go order. The kids meal was missing fries and the toy, and from the family pack, the large mac & cheese side was completely left out. That’s just careless.
When I politely brought up that we didn’t receive any dipping sauces, butter, or honey for the biscuits, the expeditor was rude and dismissive, saying “it’s all in there,” when clearly it wasn’t. She clearly didn’t double-check the order and was unprofessional in handling feedback.
