At one time I gave them 4+.
Couldn't remember why I hadn't been back because really enjoyed it at times.
2 times ago I just needed something light and ordered 2 street tacos. They were just the flat flower and a flat corn that might have been 3 1/2" across very small.. And the fixings were dead center and didn't cover the whole tortilla.
I think I just had a glass of water and it was over twenty dollars for 2 small tortillas. I don't wonder now why I was the only one there at one o'clock maybe a little later.
Met some friends over there friday for lunch. Their request. Good sign was a little busier of a crowd.. no not crowd just busier.
There were four of us and the two across from us get their food, at least ten or fifteen minutes before ours. Of course, we told them to go ahead and start eating, but they did feel uncomfortable about it.
The service was fair. We constantly had to ask for more water and more chips to go with oir large bowl of queso, which tasted, okay. A little better when we added some of our sauce to it.
This time I felt rather intelligent.. this time I ordered the la victoria chicken breast with three shrimp, rice and salad.. good large tender piece of chicken.. three shrimp and I would say, you're probably better than average. But nowhere near the best. And I asked for the francis sauce on the side.. the shrimp came swimming in it, but it turned out Okay that the sauce was alright.. this would be a two if didn't care for this sauce... after ordering it on the side.
But I say smarter, because I looked at the prices on the menu and this was well worth the $20 compared to what I paid for too small. Street tacos in stock to get something to eat along the way home..
And I do speak spanish. So it wasn't the miscommunication in language about the sauce, not being on the food and on the side.
My friend has owned several restaurant chains. He commented the queso dip was very good.I gave him one of the shrimp. He liked that..
I also was in the restaurant business for many years and we don't go out to eat to be critical.. just to get the service and the quality food that we pay for. His comment was also about having to wait. So long to eat, he ate so many chips. That they filled him up.. waiting for the food.
So all in all, i'm going to say three minus.. will I go back yeah? If i'm in the area hungary and don't remember the last two times I probably will.
Overall experience 3 minus
Ohh and I ordered water without lemon. Their water is fru fru water.
If you're going to do that, it would be courteous to ask which one you wanted instead of assume that what you're serving is better than what they're expecting.
Okay maybe two plus.
And I really hate that i'm...
Read moreThis place is amazing! Hands down the best Mexican restaurant I've been to! The staff was very friendly, very attentive, and made the whole experience wonderful. We came in as a larger party for my aunt's retirement. They were very welcoming, and were very patient with us having several kids with us. That was just the service. The food, oh my gosh.. It was phenomenal! I admit that I'm that basic white girl who can't handle a lot of spice. I have reflux that's made worse by being pregnant, so i worried about how much spice my food would have. The queso was just amazing! There was a hint of a kick, but nothing that upset my reflux. I ordered the chicken enchiladas with queso on them. So worth it! I wish i had ordered extra to go! 😂 I'm not a fan of beans, so i ordered extra rice in its place. As any who eat Mexican food know, the rice is a hit or miss. Their rice was definitely a hit! My 2yo is autistic and rather picky with his food. I ordered him the chicken nuggets and fries, and he ate nearly all his food! That is big for him since nuggets that aren't from McDonald's are usually not something he is interested in.
In short, if you're looking for a place to eat, relax, and enjoy the company you're with, i highly recommend having your next meal here. I'll add that when we arrived, we were the only patrons. A short time after, 2 small groups came in. It was not crowded by any means, and we were all able to have conversations without any issues of not being able to...
Read moreSo disappointed!! I have been here before and the experience was so different. It took 20 minutes to get water and our queso fundido. We were sat immediately but chips and salsa took forever to come out. Our margaritas were sitting on the end of the bar for several minutes before being delivered so most of the ice had melted and the drinks were weak as a result. There were only 3 other tables in the restaurant and they seem to be getting the service we were used to in the past. There was a wedding going on in the back room and the restaurant assured us that they had separate waitstaff working that party. However, I noticed our waitress going back there on several occasions. Clearly their focus was the wedding party and not the regular customers that frequent the place. Too many Mexican restaurants in the area to put up with poor service. We ended up at El Rincon in downtown Carrollton which was an incredible dining experience!!
UPDATE IN RESPONSE TO THE RESTAURANT’S RESPONSE: There was absolutely no shortage of waitstaff in the restaurant. There were only three tables. Our table (a party of two) and two other tables of 4-5 people each with their own waitress during our visit. And a wedding party in the back room which we were assured had their own waitstaff. Our waitress was just not paying attention to us or moving very fast. So, please don’t play that “card”. At the end of the day, it was a bad waitress that was not focused on meeting the needs of...
