Solid 4 star experience. The atmosphere, energy, and service or all wonderful. You come here and you do get an experience, for sure.
The food had me in two different places, nothing bad though. I had an issue with temperature of most things only being warm when it came out and so pretty quickly everything was too cool. The meat underneath the huevos rancheros was actually cool from the start. The beans as well.
We got the 2x4 and the huevos rancheros and shared everything. From the 2x4, we got two buttermilk pancakes, two eggs, two slices of bacon, and two sausage patties. The bacon was delicious and the only thing from the 2x4 that was stand out and flavor. The pancakes and sausage were both very mild and didn't really seem like anything special. The texture of the pancakes was good, firm but not really heavy. I ordered the eggs poached, and they were magnificent. I didn't list them with the bacon because when it comes to poached eggs the flavors pretty consistent until you put something else on it but the texture is what it's all about, and these were booked to perfection. The other dish was the huevos rancheros, which comes with black beans and hash browns. The black beans and hash browns both struck me as being on the bland side but the hash browns were still fun to eat because I haven't had any in a long time. The huevos rancheros were absolutely delicious in terms of flavor, but at the same time disappointing because of the temperature. I would like to add for context that I start a meal by trying some of everything so I don't give things enough time to cool down before I can try them.
TLDR: 5 stars for atmosphere and service, 3 stars for food, making it...
Read moreMinimum 8 star out of 5, with more menu trials ahead, should push this to at least 9 stars in my next review; very well rounded menu and diverse breakfast specialities. Had super rare Saturday business task in NW Dallas. So I hunted for a local breakfast place. This score of a find is locally owned and the owner was on location. My server Khansa was terrific, friendly and efficient. I had an Americano, a Frisco Skillet, subbed butter in place of the processed oils, a side of Applewood smoked Bacon, great hot briskets with the right flake and fluff (an odd perfection, I could not resist despite some dietary restrictions, added sausage gravy for the biscuits. That gravy is left less peppery for the sensitive tongue but so good I never thought about adding more pepper to my taste. And I had a regular coffee in place of another Americano. Either could be in my tops of coffee in DFW, depending on the days taste. The regular in this case was bold and suits me perfectly many days. The Americano was excellent too, smoother and more suited to the average or slightly more bold than average for many.
I will go out of my way for Starwood, making excuses to do more business in the area or in route to the lake. I do breakfast often but this is now my tops in the broader Metroplex. No hesitation for the lunch menu either, but I love breakfast, while I will not be as diverse next time; this was a feast.

Read moreTo sum up....it was OK. Nothing great. The lighting and modern look is nice, but they need some acoustical tiles to absorb some of the sound in there as it is very echoey and loud. Our waitress was very nice, but did not deliver our food and was eating her own food within sight while we were trying to get her attention about some of our missing items. My boyfriend got the chicken fried chicken. The chicken was chewy, the gravy was a very thick consistency and tasted like straight flour. His side of corn was from a can (as to be expected) and was BLAND, as were his mashed potatoes. My food wasn't bad, but again, my side of hashbrowns had no flavor. I will not be coming back. I make a better breakfast at home, but I do have to say that the manager did come to our table when we were looking for our lost items to make things right, I saw her running food and washing windows. There is a manager that is not afraid to do some work. Impressed by her. Hope she becomes a manager at a...
