This bargain store has a large and roomy parking lot that has space for everyone. The store is not arranged or organized in any particular manner, which can be super frustrating during holidays and sale events, when people want to get in, get the items they're looking for, and then get out. Its going to take you a little while to find everything if you have specific items in mind, so be prepared! It is a store that offers great discounts on buyouts, and therefore I feel space is limited to what is in store stock at the time. There is one caveat, and that is a lot of clothing items, linens, curtains and sheet sets are what is called "slightly irregular". This means there can be discoloration, sewing imperfections and basic defects to these items in some way, so, if you are purchasing these items as a gift, that may or may not be a great idea, according to your specific needs. The store is relatively clean, although alot of items that have been there longer as well as the stationary, assigned areas are quite dusty, and/or a little grimy feeling. Usually the display items and not actual boxed products. Overall, I give 3 stars because they are pretty open about being all about the bargain, but they are a little disappointing as far as disarray, cleanliness and at times having enough cashiers to handle normal weekend flow of customers. If the bargain is a good one, I will shop there again. The overall issues i had were not bad enough for me to avoid shopping there and even waiting in line for a bit to get a deeply discounted item. Side note, some of the electronics are "re-conditioned", which means they were returned at a dealer or other store, disassembled and reassembled using new or better parts, so are as good as new, but on occasion you may see a scratch or ding, or missing instructions or hardware like screws. They do have these items clearly labeled however, so nothing underhanded going on there. I would give it a try if you enjoy reading as they always have a huge...
Read moreI personally like shopping at Ollies as a store chain however this store is so poorly managed and horribly kept. It's always trashed, management putting stock out talking to each other with such vulgarity while customers are in the store and even responding by screaming "what for" when paged to come up front for a customer. That was the most rudest, the most disrespectful act of customer service ever! It was 1 cashier and a line of 20+ and neither would come assist at the register to get customers out. I've been a manager in retail for many years and that broke my spirit for that poor cashier. She kept her smile I'll give her that much. If Ollies wants to keep what customers still come there they might want to figure out how to manage the store properly so that floor sets and planograms don't supercede customer service, since customers are what keep them with a paycheck. ...
Read more*Today, 8/21/24, I still appreciate the ability to shop name brands for much less than the usual retail stores. I enjoy browsing through their books. This is the place to purchase children's books. I saw an interesting book today: it teaches an adult how to make several easy crafts and then guides the adult as he/she teaches the child(ren) many natural-themed crafts. I'm considering purchasing that book to give to dear friends who "Homeschool" their brood. (Note: even their 4yo twins are successful in 3rd grade Math, Reading, and Communication skills). *Ollie's has items from other businesses, marked down quite a lot. The items are usually name brands, so the quality is very good. I really appreciate the discounted prices; especially on large pots. Ollie's has a nice selection of adult coloring books, recipe books, and puzzle books. And really beautiful and intricate...
