Umm. Really? Where were you my whole life lol? As a kid my family vacationed in Ocean City at least once a year. As an adult I can probably say I have continued that tradition. For the last 6 years or so as a couple my girl and I have endured many day trips and weekend stays . My family has a nice place on the water there so no matter what we always have a place to stay. I have tons of memories as a kid and as an adult. I feel like we always stopped in this little store called Sea Shell City and I remember the first time my girl and I went together. You may be saying to yourself maybe this guy is leaving a review for the wrong store but let me continue lol. Sea Shell City is a nice store but this review is about Seaside Country Store a hop, skip and a jump away from Sea Shell City. We saw this huge building and sign and decided to pull in and check this new place out. WOW. As soon as you go in its lots of food, jellies, jams, sauces, candies, nuts and fudge. We both asked each other "have you ever been in here before?" And we both said no. The place is super nice. Clean and organized. Plenty of levels and rooms. Decorations, novelty items, puzzles, toys, pillows, crafts, pictures, furniture and even sectioned off areas of holiday items. A gem of a find to the both of us. Absolutely Amazing place and worth checking out. Now, we didnt buy much just a few things including a plaque and some food items. I did feel like alot of the prices of interested items were a little high but none the less, the store was still pleasing to shop around. When we managed to finally end our shopping / touring expedition of this store we proceeded to the check out. The sales lady at the register was sweet and efficient. I had told her the store was very nice and asked her "did it just open?". She pointed to a anniversary shirt for sale behind her and replied " we been here for 55 years". Wait....how has this store been missed my entire life. There's a outside sign on the street and the name on the building is huge. Yet somehow neither me or my girl... in my life, her life or our life together remember ever being in this store before. Store is definitely worth 5 out of 5 for going above and beyond in layout and merchandise. However, Im only scoring a 4 out of 5 mainly due to the fact some prices were a little high and apparently, the letters on the outside of the building need to be even bigger, cause I somehow didn't take notice of this place until its 55th year there. A crazy hop, skip and jump away from Sea Shell City that I remember being in at least 100 different times in my life. Go figure lol.

Read moreFirst time visting the store a couple months ago, only to be greeted by an overwhelming musty smell. My husband and I enjoy fudge, and it was recommended to us to give Seaside Country Store a try... we located the fudge counter to the left of the store, and proceeded to head the way, to check out the flavors being offered. An older woman asked if we were ready, and I told her to please help the customer behind us, because we weren't ready. We continued to view choices and then I happened to look up, and noticed that the woman handling the fudge was not wearing any sort of glove. She pulled the trays out, handled the fudge with bare hands, and then tucked her hair behind her ear, and continued right on with the fudge. I couldn't believe what I was witnessing. The next moment, a guy came from the back, carrying a tray of some sort of candy. It was laying in a wax paper lined tray. He took the tray and emptied the product into his bare hands, pulled off the wax paper layer, and pressed it into another tray... all with no gloves! This was beyond repulsive, and we left the store. I decided to call to let them know about this, and was basically told that it was the owner who was serving the fudge and that "she's always done it like that" - there isn't another candy store that I've been in where the employees aren't wearing gloves while they're handling ready to eat food. Needless to say, we will...
