I could write a whole book about how amazing my experience was at Bon Bon Belle (BBB)! Some context: I initially purchased my wedding dress from another boutique during their sample sale, only to realize shortly after that it wasn’t the right dress for me. The catch? It was non-returnable. Not only did I worry endlessly about finding another dress that would fit my body within an expedited timeframe, but I also struggled to find a boutique that truly embodied the bridal experience I had always imagined. Fast forward a few months, and I decided to book an appointment at BBB after thinking I had found "the dress." I am SO GLAD I waited until my appointment at BBB before confirming my choice with another boutique. From the pre-appointment phone call to the champagne toast, Bon Bon Belle far exceeded all of my expectations. I’ll admit, I assumed that because the website and boutique were so stunning, I would quickly price out of my budget, and that they wouldn’t have much to offer in my size (14). But as soon as my mom and I walked in, we were greeted and made to feel comfortable in the cute sitting area. We were offered coffee and delicious treats—this alone set the experience apart from others, as food and drinks are typically not allowed at other places. Liesl, my stylist, was so friendly, charismatic, and supportive. She took the time to ask great questions and had already selected 4-5 dresses for me to try on. Again, this was a huge plus, as my other appointments started with picking dresses, taking time away from the actual appointment. I never felt rushed or nervous throughout the entire process. I knew, based on all of the positives and how cared for I felt, that I would find MY dress here. When it came time to narrow down the choices, Liesl placed a veil on me and put a bouquet in my hands, asking me to close my eyes. Yes! At last, I had the "bridal moment" I had almost given up hope on experiencing. Through teary eyes, I celebrated and had the unique opportunity to sign the wall plaque and pin the map. Shortly after, my mom and I were taken over to the bar, where we got to pop a bottle and truly relish the full experience. The service didn’t stop there, as Meghan celebrated with us and engaged in down-to-earth, encouraging conversation. If you’ve read this far, you know I’m still gushing about my experience at BBB. These phenomenal women are the real deal. While no guarantees were made that I would find a dress, I felt confident I would because I was able to be my full, authentic, and most comfortable self. For context, I already had a feeling I was going to say yes to the dress at this boutique. I had stumbled upon them on tiktok back when they only had the Burlington location. I would constantly say to my (at the time) boyfriend that something just resonated with me that this is where my dress was waiting for me, so when he finally did propose a few years later I already knew where I was going. Anytime I would come across their videos there was something that just made me feel so welcomed despite not being there yet, and let me tell you, the real life experience is UNMATCHED to just the vibes you’d get from the videos. It’s even better.
Once I was ready to book a dress appointment they had just opened the Madison location which is much closer to me so I took this as an even bigger sign that this is where I needed to go (especially since I got emotional at my email confirmation…)
When I arrived I was immediately greeted by Ally who was my stylist. She was absolutely phenomenal. I can’t say enough nice things about her as well as the rest of the staff that would occasionally come over during my fitting. I was so nervous going in because I have been struggling to lose baby weight and worried I wouldn’t find anything, but all of these woman brought out so much confidence in me and I can’t thank them enough. Ally truly listened to what I had in mind for dresses and she totally nailed pulling all the right dresses. She was so nice and easy to talk to. I can’t thank her enough for not only uplifting my confidence, but also helping me find my dream dress!! I hope she knows the lasting impact this’ll leave!
And even after you say yes to the dress they have so many more activities for you to do so it’s not like they’re rushing you out the door once they make a sale. They continue to make you feel special and set you up at a bubbly bar to celebrate with your entourage as well as so much more. It’s really not just shopping, this place is an EXPERIENCE. Read moreI debated leaving a rating as my shopping experience was very pleasant, it was what came afterwards that was not so much. I ended up purchasing a dress and then 6 months later I got a call that the dress was in but it came in the wrong color. I had to go to the store to see if I liked the color it came in and I did not. Thankfully my size and color was the try on model, so I bought that as I didn’t have time to buy a new dress. The dress did have some dirty spots and I was told I could clean it. That is just not at all what I imagined as my dress buying experience, especially seeing as I was spending almost $3000. I was given a discount for buying it off the rack but I feel as though because it was dirty and my dress came in the wrong color I still wasn’t satisfied but I had a dress so that was what was most important. Then I pick out a veil and earrings, upon purchasing I am told they take about two weeks to get. After two weeks I called and they said it would be more like 4-6 weeks. I call at 4-6 weeks and they have to look into it. My veil finally came in a little after 6 weeks. It is now almost 12 weeks and I still haven’t gotten the earrings. I work in the furniture industry and have gotten custom furniture faster. I understand delays but this was just an unpleasant, disappointing experience. Not at all exciting or bridal. I will be requesting a refund for both veil and earrings as I had purchased from other places after not hearing anything and no accurate dates for receiving it. They were pleasant during the purchasing experience and maybe this was just a series of unlucky events for me but it has just left a bad taste in my mouth.
