Room #152 - Door lock was BROKEN and I didn't realize it until I spent the night in a room that was NOT locked. The rooms are FILTHY!
The desk staff was great, but the cleaning/maintenance people clearly are in charge and running circles around the management. Both rooms I stayed in were FILTHY. Yes, the bedding and bathroom sink were clean, but in #117 the tub/shower had orange mildew and the shampoo/conditioner dispensers for FILTHY! Thank God I bring my own shampoo! The wall behind the toilet had what looked like big tomato sauce splatter (pretty sure it's not tomato sauce behind the toilet), and the baseboard below the toilet paper had YEARS worth of dust/fuzz. I have photos if you want to see them!
Room #152: the TV remote was covered in chocolate, the TV displayed only white static, had giant spiderwebs/cobwebs in the corner next to the television, and of course, the door lock was completely broken. When I took the chocolate-covered remote to the front desk, he offered me another room upstairs, but NO ELEVATOR. I arrived after midnight, had already started unpacking, and was exhausted, so I declined the 2nd floor room, and just crawled into bed. But when I discovered the door never locked the next morning, I was moved to room 117.
Not for wheelchairs! No ramps, no elevators. My luggage was very heavy and it was a challenge that there were no ramped curbs. I had to pass on a second-floor room because there were no elevators.
The cleaning people pretend they don't understand English, and force the staff to talk into their phones using Google Translator. Each sentence is then displayed in both languages on the phone, and they pass the phone back and forth with each sentence spoken. Extremely slow and difficult. This prevents the staff from communicating with them in any depth, so communication is bare minimum. I was told that the room with the broken lock was flagged for repair a while ago. It's near the maintenance/laundry room, and I have a feeling the cleaning people use the room for their own purposes. They totally understand English. It's manipulation. This place...
Read moreThough the hotel had the best reviews around Cincinnati, it wasn’t as nice as expected. We checked in later around 10p. The employee didn’t ask to see any ID or have a card on file for accidentals. The employee was overall pleasant. The hotel is shaped like an ‘L’ & we were on the bottom floor, furthest way from front entrance. The hallways smelt like cigarette smoke. When we arrived at our room we were given an accessible room. There were only 3 pillows for 2 people. When we asked for another pillow & shower towel and a few more washcloths, we were told we had to wait until morning. When the fan kicked on it blew directly on the bed. I didn’t care for the mirror directly on the wall at the end of the bed. When we went to take a shower it was janky and we had to adjust it just right to work somewhat properly. Breakfast is only until 9a on the weekends. It should be later like 10a. You don’t have to worry about missing breakfast because housekeeping starts cleaning rooms at 8a and are loud. Not considerate at all. Breakfast was a standard hotel breakfast. We did like the sausage and biscuits & gravy. We did receive the items we asked for the previous night but the AM employee was more stern & a bit hesitant. There isn’t a pool or hot tub. When we arrived back at our hotel on Saturday night there was loud music so I wondered if there is a banquet room. The parking during our stay was slim. It was February when we visited so the walkways & parking lot were a bit icy where the water ran off the building. Apparently the hotel has to reactivate your room card everyday after 10a but they don’t let you know that or, again, ask for ID to get access back into the room. There were a lot of businesses located near hotel. Overall, if I would to return to this area I may try a...
