Covert Comics & Collectibles in Foley, Alabama is an absolute gem and a must-visit if you’re anywhere near downtown! We stopped in after seeing Spider-Man outside promoting the store (which was such a fun surprise for the kids), and we’re so glad we did. The store is packed with an incredible range of comics, collectibles, action figures, and more—everything from Star Wars to Paranoia to vintage finds. There’s truly something for every collector and fan here.

The staff couldn’t have been friendlier. You can tell they’re passionate about what they do and genuinely love sharing it with others. What made our visit even more special was the event they had going on. Not only did my kids get to meet Spider-Man, but they also got free rides in their Batmobile riding vehicle inside the store! It was such a thoughtful and memorable touch that really made the day for my family.

They really thought outside the box with their advertising and nailed it. We only stopped in because they went the extra mile to make it fun and visible—and once inside, we were blown away by the selection and atmosphere. If you’re in downtown Foley or just passing through, do yourself a favor and check out Covert Comics & Collectibles. It’s an awesome experience for kids, collectors, and...

I’ll start with the small negative and move to the many positives.

The checkout process ends with a 3.5% fee if you’re not using cash. Unpleasant on principle.

The store is wall to wall comics, magic, Pokémon or whatever it is (80% of the store) … with a small sliver of sports cards in the back. But, it’s worth it because there is some great stuff back there.

The single cards are reasonably priced (don’t forget to add 3.5%) and displayed very nicely.

The guy who was my age (older than the kids) was knowledgeable and very friendly. We had a great conversation. My guess is he is the owner.

I picked up a nice ‘77 Dale Murphy RC and a ‘93 UD Jeter XRC along with 4 backs of ‘25 Bowman that I’ll keep sealed.

It was a really cool shop, cool vibe, people in the store on a weekday…and the experience was very pleasant. It is a must see if you like cards and find yourself...

The best nerd shop in Baldwin county, period. I am a huge Star Wars Vintage Collection vehicle guy, and I have gotten several hard-to-find vehicles from them. Staff is always friendly and helpful, and they are fairly priced, especially when compared to online market standards, which vary dramatically among individual sellers. Even if something is priced a little above ebay prices, I generally prefer to pay a little more to be able to walk out of the store with whatever my particular hunt item is. Great selection of comics, new and old. It has become one of my regular stops. 5/5, recommend checking it out!

Also, a great environment for kids. My 2 year old comes with sometimes and he is super dramatic, but the staff has always been kind...

We stopped in yesterday and Derek was working and incredibly helpful and knowledgeable about everything in your store and even some things you didn’t have. He was very friendly and attentive not only to us but everyone who walked in to the store. We originally came to go to the yellow submarine but didn’t know the hours but glad that we stumbled upon Covert. Walked away loyal customers now.
