We drove part of the coast, and walked the trails around Glass Beach. Glass Beach is an absolutely beautiful area, but is not what you see pictures of on Google. Regardless of law, the beach has been combed over and long since gone are the beaches of shimmering sea glass. Now, you can spot pieces here or there, but it's sparse, and if you blinked you'd miss it. So expect a beautiful coastal cliff and beach region, but don't spend time looking for a beach of rounded beach glass pebbles... it isn't there anymore. Fort Bragg is a quaint little sea side town, but do your research on the hotels, and book early. Also, ask the locals about the best seafood spots, you could miss them if you didn't know where to go. We didn't ride the "world-famous" Skunk Train, but heard nice things about it, again, book ahead. Lastly, don't forget that the fog doesn't lift early, so early morning pictures are a little more difficult, but we did spot sea lions out on the hunt for breakfast, and I still managed to get some photos that rivaled the afternoon before. Read moreBeautiful ocean views and impressive surf. There were big high fences and aggressive signage preventing us from going down to glass beach; though some nearby visitors had bypassed the fences to explore the historic trash-dump-turned-treasure-trove, we did not brave the treacherous cliffs (nor did we have any desire to contribute to the depletion of the sea glass...we hardly saw any.) Well maintained paths, many benches, incredible sunset view, there were even lifeguards there with their pickup truck (presumably because it was high tide and high surf, as a safety precaution. Nothing seemed to be amiss). I enjoyed the walk because the Pacific coast is incredible anywhere -- the "glass beach" aspect we didn't even...
