MENDOCINO CHOCOLATE CO., FORT BRAGG: AWESOME! Chocolate. Yes, indeed. I will not, however, say it is the best I have ever eaten. In my home town "The Little Red Farm House" makes AWESOME fudge, as well, and I've stopped in no less than two other fudge or chocolate factories that make as good/or better than the chocolate I've tasted here. It is so great to know the places that sell the absolutely best chocolate.
WHAT I LEARNED STOPPING HERE: I learned that I can eat rocky road chocolate. Will that beat all. I guess if you get good rocky road, I can eat it. I did not know this. Heretofore, I would not, I could not eat rocky road. I also, found some very good pecan logs--can you say mmmmm, mmmmm, good? I have no idea how much money I spent, because what you see here, does not begin to cover what I purchased. (At a different chocolate place down the road I purchased many, many truffles. Oh, my.) Chocolate indulgence. I knew I would be in trouble unless I started rationing myself. Ok. In the display, the chocolate is laid out in a very appetizing way, so the buyer can peruse the various pieces, and, hopefully, buy some of each. The smell invades your nose, and it seems as if it comes in through your very skin. I think I was beginning to get light-headed from the chocolate fumes (just a joke). Taking my purchases, I made my way out of the store and back out to my car. Lucky me. I wasn't driving. WARNING: Go to this store at your own risk, its chocolateness is overwhelming and could lead to chocolate intoxication. I disclaim any liability resulting in OD'ing on chocolate. My...
Read moreThis is my husband and my favorite chocolatier. We discovered the Mendocino Chocolate Company a few years ago. All of their confections are delicious and each has a unique flavor that sets it apart.
Our favorite favorite chocolate is their Seamist caramels. Dark and milk alike, we cannot get enough. When we got married, we gave these as table favors for our guests. The Mendocino Chocolate Company did a great job creating little gifts for our guests, who also loved their chocolates.
Recently I ordered a box of their sea salt caramels, which arrived just in time for my husband's birthday. He was so happy and I was thrilled that it arrived beautifully boxed and cool inside, despite the 100 degree weather.
Once things return to pre-pandemic times, we are coming back to get our supply, but in the meantime, thank you for shipping your delicious treats in a very thoughtful and well cared...
Read moreTerrible poor experience, we entered the place being excited about trying out the chocolates and purchasing them to take back home. It did have a sign at entrance which says free samples inside. See picture attached. Inorder to taste free sample, we had yo sign up for newsletter, and then we can choose the sample. I tried one for myself. We were 2 people and when my partner wanted to try it out and he tried signing up for newsletter, the lady came rushing to stop us from doing it and said just one free chocolate per resident and she started enquiring if we lived separately or 1 family. And then she also said that make sure that your heart is saying the truth. We are extremely disappointed with someone pointing fingers at us. This is rude. If this is the way you treat your customer then...
