Ok, So I haven't been back to this theatre in a while, all I have to say is, this theatre seems to be suffering from the lack of business.
Driving into the theatre my car plummeted into a deep pool (it had been raining) filled pot hole, my entire TIRE fit inside of it. I wasn't happy about that from the beginning. FILL THAT, who knows if my car is damaged from it, only time will tell (or the mechanic I'll be taking my car to, to make sure my car is ok and nothing is bent or broken).
Walking in, there's no one at the front window, you buy your tickets from the concessions stand where they seem to only have a handful of employees working, it's Friday night, where are all the people and why isn't the place packed, it was an 8 p.m. show!
So few employees, nothing looked organized. I was thinking about getting popcorn, but, $8??
Skipping popcorn, walking into the theatre, it was freezing, my house is at 70 degrees and feels so much warmer than there. My date, her nose was ice, my pants were ice, I think my drink got colder being in there, and not to mention for a 2.5 hour movie?
Carmike, if you're suffering from people I can tell you why. Fix your parking lot so people don't damage their cars. Have employees on Friday nights so people don't feel like they're walking into a business that's suffering. Turn the heat up so people aren't miserable, counting the seconds until the movie ends. Lower your prices on concessions, you're trying to overcompensate for your lack of business by jacking prices up. You want more business and to make more money? Be competitive, make it comfortable, affordable, inviting and enjoyable. The movie theatre is supposed to be an experience, not where you take your date to torment them!
Hell, if I knew I was going to get $2.50 large fountain drinks and $4 large tubs of popcorn in a comfortable and regulated temperature, I'd go to that theatre every time.
Last time I'll go there, especially when it's risking breaking my car and tormenting my date!
Take care Carmike. If you up your game, renovate, and get on top of being competitive I'll give it another shot. But you couldn't pay me...
Read moreI am so beyond disappointed in this movie theater right now. To start, the inconsistency is ridiculous. I have been coming here for literally years (for discount movie Tuesday) and NOT ONCE have I not been able to get the discount after the matinee times. I can never come during the day because I work & have chemo/radiation, so I have always come after 5. Never in the past 5 years that I’ve been coming here, has this been a thing when I buy a ticket. I used my student discount(hoping the discount would make up the difference) instead, and are you joking? $0.75 discount?!?! Again - it has never been that much!!! I came here to see Barbie not even 2 weeks ago, and with my student discount it was $6.50 ! I am looking at the ticket stub right now!!! That’s why I come on Tuesday’s!! Literally all of my money goes towards my cancer treatment, and I decided to take myself to the movies today because it’s “discount movie day” (apparently not) & the chemo/radiation has been kicking my a** & I deserve a break! As pathetic as it sounds, those few dollars could have gone towards my life saving treatment. The cashier said it’s always been like this, but I have ticket stubs to prove it hasn’t been. The lying/inconsistency is so upsetting. I should’ve just gone to the Cinemark, because I know for a fact they oblige by discount movie day AND student discounts. That’s where I’ll be going from now own. I won’t be coming back to this Carmike. I’m genuinely not okay and...
Read moreMaybe I did something wrong but when I walked in no one was at the front scanning tickets… so to theatre 6 I went! There were snacks/popcorn to the left and a small bar on the right.
I skipped these since I don’t like snacking during my movie theatre experiences, but after looking around (seated in row G) I can’t see a single popcorn kernel or piece of trash anywhere. Thank you to the service workers for keeping this auditorium clean.
The 7:30p showing was nearly full. I opted for the 4:30p since it had maybe 10 seats occupied. This was an awesome excellent choice on my behalf because I have the entire row to myself (actually reviewing during the scary movie previews bc I’m a pansy and have a privacy screen so my phone stays dark )
Speakers aren’t as great as other AMCs. Recliners seem to be very new and quite comfortable. Heat and cooling settings.
Scary preview is almost over so I’ll wrap it up!! Overall a nice theatre in Fort Collins. I booked my ticket with the AMC app. Going to the movies is underrated and yall are missing out.
Movies I’m looking forward to…
