My first time at Hatch was by far the most distasteful experience dining in all of Broward county. Upon arrival I placed my name on a waitlist and waited like everyone else. Once I received my text to approach the hostess, the couple in front of me used my name and were immediately sat. The gentleman at the front immediately knew he was not me, in a moment of confusion he walked away. The hostess continued to sit two other tables as I stood to the side after the hostess confirmed that the gentleman in front me used my name to be seated. After this, I was seated and ordered a coffee and milk which separated right in front of me. After a what’s seemed over 15 minutes, the waiter changed the coffee. I ordered pancakes, side of eggs and another main dish. Only of which an order of pancakes came out. After an additional 30mins I asked the waiter to cancel my order and I would be paying for what was on the table at the moment(coffee and 1 pancake.) Witnessing the manager, Jessica walking up to selective tables and I would have expected to have seen her after an entire order had been cancelled. Jessica was occupied talking to the same two guests at the bar meanwhile attempting to look as if she had an agenda pacing through the restaurant in know direction with the same menu in her hands for the entirety of my time at, Hatch. She canceled my order and proceeded to make a B-line for the kitchen where she remained until I left. From entry to exit, I was in Hatch for 1:27mins and nothing to show for it. Far too long to have a table occupied when theirs a current waitlist.
To Jessica(the manager) The obligation to show face as reorientation of not only your staff but the organization as whole, you failed to deliver any form of professionalism in the position I still question how you attained. Your lack of leadership, hospitality and professionalism concerns me for the future of Hatch, as you in a position to represent a team. The hospitality isn’t for everyone as you come across a very wide variety of personalities and obstacles when tending to people. A team needs a leader they can depend on and look up to, two things you unfortunately failed to display today.
As for my ratings. I didn’t try the food because it never arrived. The service was mediocre and clearly lacked support. Atmosphere was attractive but couldn’t get past my...
Read moreRestaurant Review: Hatch Brunch with Jaime, the Wonder Waitress
If you’re looking for a brunch experience that transcends the ordinary, look no further than Hatch. This is not just a place for pancakes and mimosas; it’s where culinary magic meets superhero service—thanks to our waitress, Jaime.
From the moment we sat down, Jaime was a whirlwind of energy. She greeted us like we were long-lost friends and immediately made suggestions that sounded so divine, I thought she might have some sort of culinary psychic ability. “The hangover burger will change your life,” she said. I didn’t believe her at first, but after one bite, I felt like I’d just been granted a vision of the universe's secrets.
Jaime was more attentive than a Jewish mother who’s son is home from med school. She refilled our coffee before we even realized we were low—I'm pretty sure she’s part coffee oracle. “How does she do it?” my friend whispered as Jaime appeared at our table, seemingly out of thin air, carrying 5 plates of food like a magical octopus.
But then, just when I thought it couldn’t get better, the brunch took a turn for the outrageous. As we were discussing how amazing Jaime was, a fire alarm suddenly blared a few buildings down. Without missing a beat, Jaime sprinted out of the restaurant, moments later, covered in soot, carrying our family dog. “I just saved little Oscar here from a burning building,” she said nonchalantly. “Now, who wants more mimosas?”
At this point, I started to wonder if Jaime had superpowers. While I was distraught over the thought of almost losing my dog, Jamie brought me a blueberry pancake and miniature pony on the house to cheer me up. Ironically we named the pony waffles.
Honestly, by the time we finished our meals, I felt like I’d witnessed the rise of a new brunch deity. Jaime didn’t just serve us food; she was the savior of our appetites, the extinguisher of fires, and the bringer of ponies.
So, if you want a brunch experience that will leave you wondering whether you accidentally walked into a superhero origin story, make your way to Hatch and ask for Jaime. Just remember to thank her for the brunch and the pony—and maybe toss in a “You’re my hero!” for...
Read moreWhile visiting Fort Lauderdale for a short visit I stopped by Hatch along with my sister and my goodness you have to make your way here! Upon walking in it is so bright and vibrant literally screaming morning sunshine. We were greeted by the hostess and walked over to our booth. What I liked about this restaurant is there are mostly booths which we sat in and they were comfortable. The design of the booths resemble birds nest, some tables in fixtures that resemble bird houses the design of the restaurant is wonderful. Now let's get into the drinks & food we were greeted by a few different servers all very nice and Alexis ended being our main server. She was also one of the bartenders, I did ask her for drink recommendations and since I wanted to try something different I allowed her to guide me. For drinks I first went with her recommendation the Salted Caramel Espresso Martini 10/10 it is the perfect balance of espresso and martini. My sister ordered the Sunshine with a sugar rim she really enjoyed it, said it was refreshing. My second drink was the pineapple mojito, which was light, flavorful and yummmy my sister thought it was really good. Now let's get into the food there's so many options to choose from I sided with the pancake flight you get to choose three different pancakes I chose Cinnamon roll which was topped with pecans and cream cheese frosting it was good and not very sweet. Orange mimosa which was the lightest pancake out of them all so delish and the fresh orange on top was a nice touch. Lastly I chose the Blueberry danish which had a thick blueberry compote on top with some streusel I did think the compote could have been less thicker but it was a good pancakes overall. My sister went with the country breakfast skillet, it was a good portion size and she enjoyed it. The manager on site this day was Jessica and she was very welcoming and attentive to us also. Unfortunately the reason I was in Fort lauderdale was for my brothers funeral once I shared this information with Jessica she asked me to send over a photo and put his picture on a cappuccino it was an amazing heartfelt gesture. We thank you all...
