I have been coming here for years, the massage staff is great but the gentleman that works at the front really overstepped again for the second time.
They have a sign with recommended tipping, so when he showed me my total on the calculator as always, $15 was 20% and when he asked how much to add as tip I said $15.
He then laughed and said “you did a combo so $20 ok thank you”
I said it was rude to respond that way because he was rude… he’s been working there for years, it’s not a matter of language barrier (I’m also Asian).
After I called him out on that he was very dismissive and talking over me and gave me my receipt having added $25 saying it was for tax.
I’m sorry, I would have paid my person the appropriate 20% and often pay more but this was once rude and wrong, especially under the guise of not understanding communication.. so I ripped up the receipt without signing and said to void it and run it through again with the $15 if he is going to add more…
He threw a $5 bill at me and said here is the up charge back which was fine, the girl would be still getting $20 but then started attempting to argue loudly. Just pay $15– so he was going to take her tip anyway. This is just not the way to talk to customers. They already raised prices which is fine, but tipping 20% is standard and it is a gratuity.
I felt bad about the staff getting caught in the middle but you can’t expect to treat customers like that— attempting to shame them into paying more in addition to the sign you have posted and then shaving what ever you want to their credit card telling them “OK that’s what you are going to pay” He needs to do better.
This happened years ago when I asked the woman to please wash her hands because there was food on her fingers and her nails were actually scratching my skin. It was a rare situation but I actually had stretch marks because her nails weren’t filed I tried to commit his to her and show her but she became annoyed so I asked to leave. He actually bullied me into tipping her $20 despite all of this and ending the massage early!
I won’t be coming back sadly, there are many similar places...
Read moreI discovered this place a couple of years ago and have enjoyed most of the massages, once I could get over the noise. The guy at the front desk talking loudly, water running, what sounds like a mop bucket going across the floor, etc. I’m not sure why they don’t add some spa music or sounds to drown that out. But that is not the reason for my 2 stars. I feel like they can not accommodate anyone who does not like deep tissue. I suffered through one of the worst massages of my life today and I am currently very sore. I agreed to have a man if he was gentle. I told him three times to be gentle and I do not want deep tissue before he started. I got a massage with his THUMBS only In a very fast and circled motion on my entire back. Then when his thumbs were tired He used his elbows. His motions were so rapid, it was bizarre. Very hard to believe other customers, especially women enjoy d that. When I told him it was absolutely to hard on my calf’s, he just rubbed the surface of my skin until his time was up. Longest hour of my life!!!! Horrible. I’m actually mad at myself for being to shy to just say stop...
Read moreI gave this establishment 5 stars because I will say after getting massages anywhere else, this place takes the lead for these reasons: It’s super affordable, it’s clean, the guy who picks up the phone/front desk is nice to us. Of course this isn’t your hand & stone but my boyfriend and I agreed it’s so much better hence the pricing and we LOVE deep tissue massages, with that being said be vocal about the pressure you want!! Also, people leaving reviews regarding tipping? I mean are you serious? You are supposed to tip after your service and considering the pricing how can you complain about tipping $15 after a $50 dollar massage? Now this is where you need make sure you secure your massage.. write down the name of the masseuse that you like!! This is so important! Don’t go in there and hoping to get a good masseuse, we have our two people that we don’t go if they are not available!! Very important!. Get yourself a 90 min massage with the right masseuse and you...
