Wish I could review the food but with waiting for an hour for the food to come with only 2 other tables in the resturant it not going to be worth it.
--Additional info-- I posted the above while waiting on my food and would like to add the following: i asked the serve to please have someone come out and tell me why it took so long for the food to come out (which included 4 sushi rolls and order 2 orders of Lo Mein). The manager comes out, doesn't apologize at any point for anything and then blames the server for not entering the order quick enough. I told him that I doubt that was the fact as there were on 2 other tables in the resturant. He says that he will go check at the sushi bar and get back with me. He in fact does come back out to talk, be it that it was 10 minutes later, and blames it again on the server, his sushi bar received the order at 8:00 and we got the food at 8:40 and they were busy with other tables and take out orders. I, with a smile, said which one of the other 2 tables and the 2 people that I saw walk out the door backed them up? He said he didn't see a problem with the wait and that he didn't see where the issue was. At that point I was furious and Told him that it was obvious that he wasn't concerned about customer satisfaction whatsoever and that it was a shame because the sushi was very good but they wouldn't be around very long with such poor focus on the customer.
I felt so bad for the server knowing that it wasn't her fault and in speaking with her afterwards that the managers often blame the servers for slow service coming out of the kitchen. So knowing these types of managers I wanted to make sure that the server was taken care of and not punished in any way by the manager withholding tips because of complaints I gave her a very nice tip in cash and paid the bill with a credit card.
So if you have a couple hours to spare and aren't concerned about having to wait an obscene amount of time for your food, then this place isn't bad. Otherwise don't waste your time and go somewhere else to support the...
Read moreIf I could leave 0 stars I would. The server was incredibly rude and dressed inappropriately in yoga pants. We had a party of four for our annual Christmas outing. We asked for a wine menu, and the waitress never came to take our order. We waited over 20 minutes for her to take our order. Then, 30 minutes later, only 2 orders arrived from the kitchen. After waiting 15 minutes for the other two in our party to receive their meal, they finally decided to eat. About 3 bites in, a black, curly pubic hair was found in the food. When talking to the manager, we never got an apology. He did remake the dish after she asked him to. Finally, one more dish arrived and it was wrong. We had ordered the pineapple fried rice, and it came out chicken fried rice. The waitress then proceeded to tell us they would throw it back on the wok and add pineapple. Since this was my dish, I insisted they remake it since you can get serious food poisoning from reheating fried rice. The waitress was incredibly rude about it and shouted at me that they would remake my dish. After one hour since the first two dishes came out, our fourth person in our party still had not received her food. No one every even apologized for the service! Finally our bills came, and the waitress then charged my friends card for the entire cost of another table over 55 dollars and her bill which was 17. She didn't even realize her mistake. She refunded the amount but would not provide the itemized receipt to my friend. When asked for the receipt, she brought the first receipt she found which wasn't even the correct receipt and then argued with her about it. The waitress exclaimed, "I don't even know why you're upset. The other three tables have been waiting over an hour for their food too." My friend said it best, "well I wouldn't advertise about your poor service." Worst restaurant I've eaten...
Read moreWent today and the restaurant was empty. Cool, we thought, in and out! They had ONE poor guy working at the time, but there were only three other tables and a guy at the bar, and they were all already eating. They had sea urchin listed as available for purchase, so I ordered two pieces. Ten minutes later, find out they ran out and never bothered to erase the board offering it. No biggie, the guy's alone and he was misinformed. So I replaced them with two masago pieces (note: PIECES, not entire rolls!). At this point, we're fifteen minutes in and he hasn't actually taken our order yet! Ooookay, the poor guy's alone; give him a break.
So we're sipping our water and watching more tables get seated, getting their waters AND drinks and GETTING THEIR ORDERS TAKEN! Ten minutes turn to fifteen, fifteen turn to twenty, twenty turns to thirty. No orders taken, no TWO PIECES OF SUSHI TO BE SEEN! Another table that came in after us is happily munching away at their food. Every time he passes us, he deliberately ignores us! It has been FORTY-FIVE minutes in the restaurant at least, NO ORDER TAKEN, NO TWO MEASLY PIECES OF SUSHI, and another server is also there helping out the six other tables that are getting STELLAR service! Limit has been reached; we asked the other guy to get us our check, if we had one. THEY TRIED TO CHARGE US FOR THE SUSHI! We told him we weren't paying for what we never got and asked if we could leave. Walked out of the restaurant, headed to 521 BBQ and had dinner in the time it took us just to get the waters at Akahana! NEVER...
