I rented a house for 7 women friends from October 19-26th, 2024, with a no cancellation policy. Approximately 24 hours before, the rental agent contacted me to inform me there would be workers there installing hurricane screens for the BEACHSIDE porch of the house from Monday until Friday. They indicated there would not be workers inside the house, but they would be on the back porch. If we wanted privacy (keep in mind we're 7 women) we could keep the beach side electric shades closed until the workers left. Keep in mind, we rented and Oceanfront House to enjoy the views of the ocean and the sunsets. As compensation, they agreed to turn on the pool heater as a thank you. When we arrived on Saturday, at approximately 7 p.m. there was an alarm sound coming from the pool area. I contacted the rental company and after 2 hours of the alarm going off we were told that the issue was with the pool pump, needless to say, we didn't use the pool that night.
This alarm would continue to go off at different times throughout the week.
On Monday at 8:00 a.m. the construction began, which included an extremely large fork lift, which every time it went up and down it gave the very loud BEEP BEEP BEEP that could even be heard by the water on the beach. There were a minimum of 5 men working on the back oceanfront side of the deck on the 2nd floor, as well as around the pool area. We (7 women) did not feel comfortable being in the pool or on the deck with the workers. Not to mention the dangerous conditions we were around with the fumes from the crane, the material that was left on our deck to have to walk around and the metal shavings were all over the patio chairs and grounds by the pool and beach area entrance.
We contacted the rental agency on Tuesday to see if they could put us in a different house, to no avail. This madness occurred up until Friday evening. When the workers finally left around 4 p.m., we contacted the rental company to see if we could atleast enjoy our last sunset evening with the shades up, the owner arrived and only lifted one of the four shades up.
We rented a very expensive OCEANFRONT HOUSE WITH A POOL and a large balcony to enjoy the beach and beautiful sunsets. Unfortunately, it felt more like construction work site, with the constant noise of the crane and the pool alarm going off during the entire trip.
These hurricane shades were not a necessity for us to rent the house. This was not something that needed to be fixed from damage. It was a preventative measure for any future hurricanes. They should have rescheduled the installation date knowing that they had renters in the...
Read moreRude and disrespectful! Called to report issues of cockroaches found in our beach front rental. Was accused of lying and spoke to in a condescending manor. House in question was Breezy Beach. Woke up to a giant roach in the kitchen the first night. Took a picture and sent to property manager. They sent someone to spray who assured me everything would be good going forward. To nights later we ordered a pizza and it brought the little critters out again. Two scurrying across the kitchen counter. I called again a day before Thanksgiving telling them I wanted to leave and would it be possible to get reimbursed for the last three nights. They were furious, rude, demining, and not professional. I told them they have every right to just say no and move on, but instead went into rants about how it wasn't even possible for there to be roaches in that house. Asked me to describe in detail what that looked like, as if I couldn't possibly know what one looks like. They told me that reimbursing me for the three nights is a lot of money out of their pocket, this was after telling me she herself has a 2 million dollar beach house which she too has to spray for bugs. They sent another bug man out to spray instead. Red flags when off in my head when we arrived. I saw bug houses all over the kitchen counter and floor. I was told these were for ants not roaches. We left on Wednesday despite having the house until Saturday. There was no way I would cook Thanksgiving dinner in that kitchen. Even if the roaches were now killed, my daughters would eat off of pesticide counters. Lesson learned. The beach is fantastic, find yourself a different...
Read moreWish I could choose zero stars for our stay at Beach Breeze. The day before check-in we were informed some workers would be present to install hurricane shutters. Had no options provided to cancel, move homes or receive any refund. Rental agency said to close the blinds on our gulf front view if the installation was bothersome This was not a vacation rental it was a construction site! Work began with loud power tools by 8:00 a.m. every morning except one. On that day a loud pool alarm went off for hours. A lift/crane beeped warnings all day long that could be heard even while sitting on the beach. Construction workers staged their equipment and materials on the gulf front balcony so we couldn’t sit there and enjoy it. Some evenings working until sunset. We chose a very expensive gulf front home with a large balcony and elevator because one person couldn’t be in the sun and one was recovering from knee surgery. No enjoyment for them watching and listening to construction workers all day. Heating of the pool was offered as compensation if you wanted to sit there while the fumes from be lift made you ill. Metal shavings and screws were all over the patio chairs and grounds by the pool/beach entrance and up to ten construction workers roaming around the home. Not once was a path taped off under the lift or any safety precautions implemented. Both the Management company and the owners need to step it up and do the right thing. They should be embarrassed and ashamed to think this level of service and accommodation is acceptable! A luxury vacation rental?? Not even close! Will take our business elsewhere in the future and...
